For our last day in Spain we decided to do something special, so we drove for an hour and went to Valencia, to the Aquarium!
For those that are interested, on the right side of the Oceanografic when you're facing it, there is a dead end where you can find parking spots, if you are stingy and don't want to pay the 8 euros parking ticket. You're welcome...😁
That cool turtoise was welcoming us at the entrance...
I don't know why, but with the right colours and lighting, Jellyfishes feel like true artwork.
The way they move around, dancing in the ether, with such a grace, it's really entertaining to watch, especially if you're high.
I am not saying that I was high...
Oh my god can you see it?
On the left side, it's not a dolphin...It's a shhh...shhhaa....
Sharks
This is what you came for. I could have used this shot as a thumbnail, look at this guy ligthened up like a freaking monster from the abyss, just purely amazing to see him approaching from afar, I can imagine that he is doing his routine everyday for the tourists, I get the full "Jaw" experience when he approaches my camera...
You want some cool facts?
- Shaks got no bones
- There's a spot under their nose that you can rub, and it seems to put them into a trance, even a catatonic state. True story...
- The rings on their vertebrae can help you to figure out their ages.
- They've been around for a very, very long time.
- They have good eyesight.
- They can be very big!
- Sharks are apex predators, there are more than 500 species...
Now I can see his rows of teeth, but his attitude totally changed, he actually seems to be super friendly, at the same time there is a plexiglass shield surrounding me (or him), so I guess what I am trying to say is that I probably wouldn't be so chilled if my body was submerged in water, next to this friendly beast.
Then there was a turtoise or turtle, I never know which one is which, just posing for one picture.
Here some cool facts about turtles:
- They breath air but can hold their breath for a while underwater.
- Turtles got no teeth
- They have 3 chambered hearts
- It's one of the oldest creature on earth (older fossil is 120 millions years old).
- Some species can even live up to 150 years.
Then you got some Snorkels mofos with their nets looking like true gangster hanging around with them sharks.
O G!
So you see, we're in a tunnel, it's very safe, snorkel mofos just gliding above us with giant nets and doing what snorkelers do.
I have to stop you right now before someone tells me "Ed, they're working there, they were helping the fishies", yeah yeah I know, I am just making sentences with words in it, I gotta fill up a certain amount of words which eventually will make sentences.
I figured out that just describing the pictures is probably the safest route from now on.
This is a bunch of fish...Boom, next one...
Beluga whales! Or at least I think it's what is is. I made a 2 minutes videos with editing and all, I might post it tomorrow on 3speak. They are incredible, the way they move effortlessly, really tight glutes for sure.
I am sure you're like "what is he rambling about?", don't worry we're almost done!
The penguin section was entertaining, you can really feel that these guys know their jobs, jumping in the water and impressing the crowd, everyone applaud when the penguin lands a perfect jump in the water, just staring at us with a sense of accomplishment.
I don't have much to say about the flamingos...
I thought I would lose my shit for the dolphins, but after the sharks and the peguins, it's hard to keep the level of excitement to the max, as you can the show hasn't started, the penguins were rehearsing they're routine dilligantly as pros.
Then we bumped into that guy walking super slow. Really really slow. Wait for the video in a few days.
Now it's going to be a succession of cool stuffs that we saw.
Clown fishes, of course you can imagine those guys are the attraction of the aquarium.
More fishes.
Seals just messing around, that was the best pic.
That's it for the tour, I hope that you had a good time, I know we did, really cool aquarium that I recommend to everyone.
Now we are back at the farm in France, back to digging, planting, bang bang bang (hammering), splash splash splash...See ya!
