Last week we visited (@deska89) Sofia. There we had a meeting with friends who were at the Lake, which is located in the residential district "Druzhba".
It is the largest in the residential area of Sofia.
It was created by a natural spring and after excavation works for the expansion of the residential complex.
Over the years, the terrain was improved, the banks subsided and a park called "The Lake" was created around it.
Today, the park provides a wonderful place for recreation, walks and various entertainment.
Around the lake there are restaurants, a playground with sports equipment and playgrounds.
On the western side of the lake was built the church "St. Introduction "Bogorodichno" through which we passed.
On this side of the lake there is an equipped pier, which is skillfully used by fishermen
and also by people with inflatable boats.
In addition to being very beautiful, it is full of fish and its shores are full of both fishermen and beachgoers. It is forbidden to swim because it is about 30 meters deep and because its walls are steep.
The biggest attraction are the fountains in the lake. There are two of them, which we can enjoy as well as important additional functions aimed at enriching the environment for living in the lake.
The aerator, which is part of the fountain itself, introduces oxygen into the water, which improves the living conditions of the lake's inhabitants (fish, algae, etc.)
