In the interior village of Uquo, Esit Eket LGA, Akwa Ibom State. Nigeria is located the Lipton stream. The stream is called "Lipton stream" because of its yellowish color. The stream has been there for ages. Farmers and hunters quench their taste in this stream because even with the fact that it has the yellowish color, its freshness and sweetness is still with it.
A lot of people travel from far and more civilized places to come and pay a visit to this stream because of its uniqueness.
It has served as a source of water in the land, tourist center and also a habitat for the aquatics.
Fishes and crayfish obtained from this stream are always valued at a very high price. This is because fishing is not always done regularly there and its fishes are big and eye catching. A separate body is kept aside in the village to regulate how fishing is done in their prestigious stream.
The stream has served as a good source of income to the community. Funds generated from here are used for developing the community.
The water from the yellow stream is also used by the local native doctors to cure evil diseases in the land.
The stream provides water for irrigation to farm plants throughout the dry season when they require it. Because some of the Lipton stream's water comes from underground, it has never dried up in any weather.
Also a sweet swimming place for children who return back from the farm. The stream is extremely a bit far from the village. This is because it is in the mid bush.
Lastly, of course it is a place everyone would want to reach and behold the uniqueness of the beautiful stream.
So it's my first time posting here.. smiles.
Thank you for reading.
