El día de hoy por acá llovió bastante en la mañana y está nublado, lo cual me hizo recordar la última vez que salí y vi un cielo despejado además de algunas nubes.
Puede que esté exagerando porque no todos los días donde resido son oscuros pero ajá, te quiero comentar sobre ese paseo inesperado que hice al actual “Parque Francisco de Miranda”. Resulta que antes se llamaba “Parque del este” y así suelo referirme a él pero desde el año 2002 le cambiaron el nombre.
Si la memoria no me falla, el último recuerdo que tuve en ese parque fue como para un cumpleaños de una compañera de clases de primaria así que échale lápiz desde hace cuánto no pasaba por ahí.
Ese jueves salí a hacer unas diligencias y como me desocupé temprano decidí pasar, te recomiendo ir a caminar un rato y distraerte porque a veces abruma la rutina o simplemente ayuda andar por ahí viendo a otras personas con el ritmo menos acelerado, contemplando a los animales que están en el parque, haciendo ejercicio o algunos hasta meditando en un espacio abierto lleno de naturaleza.

It's cloudy here today although it hasn't started to rain yet, which reminded me of the last time I went out and saw a clear sky and some clouds.
Maybe I'm exaggerating because not every day where I live is dark but aha, I want to tell you about that unexpected walk I took to the current "Parque Francisco de Miranda". It turns out that it used to be called "Parque del Este" and that's how I usually refer to it but since 2002 they changed the name.
If memory serves me correctly, the last memory I had in that park was for a birthday of a classmate of mine in elementary school, so pencil in how long it's been since I've been there.
That Thursday I went out to run some errands and since I got off early I decided to stop by, I recommend you to go for a walk for a while and distract yourself because sometimes the routine overwhelms or it just helps to walk around watching other people with less accelerated pace contemplating the animals that are in the park, exercising or some even meditating in an open space full of nature.
Particularmente ese día quería tomarle fotos al Buque Leander, tomé algunas fotos desde que ingresé al parque porque sabía que me gustaría mostrarte lo que iba viendo a mi paso. Me pareció que estaba todo muy limpio y bastante cuidado, me sorprendió porque uno suele escuchar que esos espacios suelen estar algo descuidados.
Comencé a caminar por donde vi que andaban más personas, busqué los audífonos y comencé a escuchar Jesse y Joy (Spotify para que escuchemos lo mismo). En algún momento me encontré en el camino sin personas alrededor, tenía un rato sin andar sola en la calle, la canción que estaba sonando me tocó la fibra y comencé a cantar. ¿Te imaginas eso? Menos mal no había nadie cerca pero fue terapéutico y agradecí que nadie me escucho porque aquí entre nos, hasta ahora no desarrollo esa habilidad pero me la vacilo.
Particularly that day I wanted to take pictures of the Leander Vessel, I took some pictures since I entered the park because I knew I would like to show you what I was seeing as I passed by. It seemed to me that everything was very clean and well cared for, I was surprised because one usually hears that these spaces tend to be somewhat neglected.
I started walking where I saw more people walking, I looked for my headphones and started listening Jesse y Joy (Spotify so we can listen to the same thing). At some point I found myself on the road without people around, I had a while without walking alone in the street, the song that was playing touched my fiber and I started to sing. Can you imagine that? Thank goodness there was no one around but it was therapeutic and I was thankful that no one heard me because here between us, so far I haven't developed that skill but I do.
Te cuento que vi un par de parques pequeños con toboganes, columpios y niños jugando tan divertidos como sólo ellos lo saben hacer, otras personas estaban trabajando, conversando y vi un par como en plan de picnic. El espacio se presta porque hay muchos árboles, te llega la brisa que juega con tu cabello y se respira un poco más de naturaleza.
I saw a couple of small parks with slides, swings and children playing as fun as only they know how to do, other people were working, talking and I saw a couple as if they were having a picnic. The space lends itself because there are many trees, you get the breeze playing with your hair and you can breathe a little more nature.
Avanzando en la caminata llegas a un lago donde hay unos cuantos botes, el día que pasé estaba cerrado pero por lo que recuerdo es una actividad bien entretenida porque suelen subir dos personas y son de esos donde debes pedalear para avanzar así que puede resultar divertido dar una vueltica por el lago conversando.
The day I went there it was closed, but as far as I remember it is a very entertaining activity because two people usually go up there and they are the kind where you have to pedal to move forward, so it can be fun to take a little ride on the lake while chatting.
Un poco más adelante llegas a la zona donde hay unos animalitos, no quiero ser polémica pero quizá esas áreas podrían estar en mejores condiciones, si te fijas en las fotos el agua se ve verdosa pero de igual forma resulta grato tener visibles algunos animalitos en un parque que está accesible en la ciudad.
Lo primero que vi fueron unas tortugas, hay unos caimanes cerca y hay uno muy grande que asumo debe ser de plástico porque en los minutos que estuve ahí no se movió. Sí, me quedé ahí un momento en plan: ¿Será de verdad o no?
I don't want to be controversial but maybe those areas could be in better conditions, if you look at the pictures the water looks greenish but it is still nice to have some animals visible in a park that is accessible in the city.
The first thing I saw were some turtles, there are some alligators nearby and there is a very big one that I assume must be made of plastic because in the minutes I was there it didn't move. Yes, I stood there for a moment thinking: Is it real or not?
El área de los monitos me pareció muy bonita porque está bien ubicada, en la zona pegaba sol y ellos estaban como jugando o acicalándose entre ellos. Intenté tomar varias fotos para que los vieras lo mejor posible pero esto del zoom en el celular puede que no sea su mejor función.
Hay un espacio donde había un felino grande, no tengo foto del afiche ni del animalito porque la grama estaba tan alta que no se veía en persona y mucho menos en foto pero la gente decía que ahí estaba. ¿Quién soy yo para decir que ahí no había nada?
I found the monkey area very nice because it is well located, the sun was shining in the area and they were kind of playing or grooming each other. I tried to take several pictures so that you could see them as well as possible but the zoom on the cell phone may not be its best function.
There is a space where there was a big feline, I don't have a picture of the poster or the animal because the grass was so high that you couldn't see it in person and much less in a picture but people said it was there. Who am I to say that there was nothing there?
La decepción de la vuelta, resulta que caminando un poquito más después de ésta zona con animalitos, llegué al lugar donde estaba el buque. No te voy a negar, para este momento ya estaba algo sudada y ansiosa de tomar la foto que quería. Enfoco bien la vista y al buque lo estaban remodelando, me alegra mucho que estén realizando los trabajos necesarios pero no te imaginas las ganas que tenía de sacar mi propia foto del buque. Lo encontré tapado como con una bolsa negra inmensa y también estaba seco el lago supongo que para facilitar el trabajo.

Nada, cuando pensé en tomarle foto, no especifiqué cómo quería verlo. Si nos vamos a esto de manifestar debemos hacerlo mejor para la próxima. Ya te dije que estaba algo cansada y sedienta así que avance un poco más donde encontré un negocio amplio, está dividido en dos. Una parte vende comestibles y al lado me pareció que tienen una floristería.
Ahí compré un helado que estaba bastante sabroso además de un agua, hice un reguero porque el helado se me chorreo, sino me pasa algo al comienzo me pasa al final – payaso- así que me acerqué de nuevo y pedí algo con que limpiarles la mesa porque no podía fingir demencia he irme así como si nada.

Después de la parada para refrescar, llegué a donde están las aves. Ahí me fijé que todos estaban identificados y te dan información relevante de la especie que estás observando. Hay espacios que están vacios o que cuentan con menos aves que en otros. De igual forma resulta relativamente “bonito” verlos de cerca porque por lo menos, en mi caso, el ave que más he tenido cerca es que si una paloma –Fuera de chinazo, por favor- pero en algún punto te cuestionas que seguramente estaría mejor en libertad o en cautiverio pero con mejores cuidados.
After the refreshment stop, I arrived at where the birds are. There I noticed that all the birds were identified and they give you relevant information about the species you are observing. Some areas are empty or have fewer birds than others. In the same way it is relatively "nice" to see them up close because at least, in my case, the bird that I have had closest to me is a pigeon but at some point you question that surely it would be better in freedom or in captivity but with better care.
Más adelante hay unas zonas como áridas sin mucha vegetación, sin animalitos, no sé que habría ahí hace tiempo pero igual me pareció bonito. Ya cuando decidí irme me fijé que cerca había una cascada, me acerqué solamente para verle más de cerca. Me he topado con fotos de esa cascada y no podía faltar que yo le tomara una foto por farandulera.
Me pareció que era el espacio que congregaba a más personas, vi como unos círculos algo grandes donde fácilmente podemos poner una mantita y ahí te sientas tranquilamente a observar el agua caer, si es el caso de que te relaja. Quise tomarle una foto por detrás pero lo vi muy solo y por ahí también hay como arte, un mural o algo similar que no detallé porque como estaba con pocas personas no quise arriesgarme.
Further ahead there are some arid areas without much vegetation, without animals, I do not know what would have been there long ago but I still thought it was beautiful. When I decided to leave I noticed that there was a waterfall nearby, I approached it just to get a closer look. I have come across pictures of that waterfall and I had to take a picture of it because I was a showgirl.
It seemed to me that it was the space that congregated more people, I saw some big circles where we can easily put a blanket and there you can sit quietly to watch the water fall, if it is the case that relaxes you. I wanted to take a picture from behind but I saw it very lonely, there is also some kind of art, a mural or something similar that I did not detail because as I was with few people I did not want to risk it.
Sinceramente me parece que es un buen plan, debo volver porque hay unas fotos de un lago inmenso donde se ve el Ávila atrás y por ahí no pasé. Es un lugar idóneo para caminar, compartir, lanzarse el plan del picnic o hasta un cumpleaños como aquella amiga que me invitó en primaria.
Sincerely I think it is a good plan, I must return because there are some photos of a huge lake where you can see the Avila behind and I did not go there. It is an ideal place to walk, share, have a picnic or even a birthday like that friend who invited me in elementary school.
