I'm back after a few days' absence. It wasn't planned, but between a trip and some family problems, I had to go away for a while. Unfortunately, I didn't bring my trusty computer with me, which made it impossible to write and share during this period.
Today, I'm delighted to be back to share with you my recent trip that I made with my family to a city that I love very much: Tangiers, the pearl of northern Morocco. In this post I'm going to share with you some photos and a video that I made showing the beauty of nature along the way.
It all started early, with a 7am departure from Meknes station. The sun wasn't fully up yet, but the fresh morning air and the excitement of the journey gave me the energy I needed. We headed for Kenitra, a charming town in the west of the country about 140 kilometres north of Meknes, known for its strategic role as a river port and its proximity to the Sebou river.
After a pleasant train journey, I met up with my brother, my cousin and his son in Kenitra, opposite the train station.
To get the day off to a good start, we had breakfast in a charming restaurant next to the Sebou River, the longest river in Morocco. Sebou flows through several towns before emptying into the Atlantic Ocean at Mehdia! This river is vital for agriculture in this region, with its abundant water irrigating the surrounding fields.
Once we'd had our fill, we headed north to Tangier by car. It was an unforgettable drive, punctuated by frequent stops to admire the splendour of the Moroccan landscape. Every bend in the road revealed a new postcard: magnificent beaches, verdant mountains and hills dotted with wild shrubs....
The feeling of breathing fresh, clean air, far from the hustle and bustle of the big cities, is really great. Nature, in all its splendour, was like an invitation to slow down and appreciate the moment.
A magical stopover: where the two seas meet
Even before arriving in Tangier, we stopped off at an emblematic and special place in Morocco and the entire African continent: the point where the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea meet. It's an almost mystical experience to stand there, facing this immensity of water, and realise that you're at the extreme north-west of Africa.
The contrast between the two seas is fascinating. The Atlantic, with its powerful waves and wild character, almost seems to dance with the calmer, more peaceful Mediterranean. It's a place where you feel incredibly small in the face of nature's grandeur. We had a great time admiring the view, taking photos and savouring this unique moment.
This trip to Tangier was a real opportunity for me to get away from my daily routine. Between the family reunion and the magnificent scenery, every moment will remain engraved in my memory. This is just the beginning of my 5-day trip! I'll soon be giving you more details about my stay in Tangier and the discoveries I made once I got there.
