Hello friends of this wonderful community! I can't wait to share with you some photos that I had forgotten to post, taken during a memorable adventure on a trail near the charming Marostica, a delightful medieval town located in the province of Vicenza. Marostica is famous for its castles and the renowned square where every year the historical reenactment of the chess game takes place – you've probably heard of it. However, thanks to the advice of a dear friend, I discovered hidden trails, perfect for a peaceful hike, where there is plenty of nature to explore nearby. This post will be divided into two parts, as I captured numerous images and want to narrate this fascinating hiking route in detail. The walk covered about 13 km, which I completed in about three hours. It was a pleasant experience, especially because, during this winter period, the trail was practically covered in leaves, as you can see from the photos. As always, I believe that nature truly shines during autumn. My journey began along the outer walls of Marostica. First, I had a lovely breakfast at a charming café, then I set off, passing by roads adorned with yellow leaves, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of Verona. From there, I took a path alongside a river and soon arrived at a donkey farm. I couldn't resist the temptation to pet one of these adorable animals, probably hungry, and it was very gentle, likely accustomed to people. Continuing on my path, I found myself completely immersed in nature. The river, initially a gentle stream, created waterfalls that I admired carefully. I proceeded along the trail, guided by a carpet of leaves, enjoying the solitude and tranquility of the surrounding nature – one of the things I love the most. As I gained elevation, I could enjoy a spectacular panorama. I stopped for a lunch break, taking advantage of the warmth of the sun and the pleasant temperature, and contemplated the landscape to understand what I was seeing.
