Hello to all travel enthusiasts!

I love diving into your posts every day, discovering places around the world that I haven't encountered yet, but I think it's wonderful to share. So, I've decided to do the same and share with you a fascinating place in my region, Lombardy. Today, I'll talk about a magnificent castle that has always captivated me during my bike rides in the province of Pavia. It's true that I often share countryside scenes, but every now and then, there's a hidden gem. I frequently cycle through these areas, taking the opportunity to cover a few kilometers on my bike and capturing shots of this castle. However, I've never delved into its history, and today I want to share with you a bit of background, hoping it piques your interest. It's also a way for me to learn more about the history of these places and share it with you; perhaps, someday, it might be useful, especially if you find yourselves near Milan.

Today, we find ourselves in the province of Pavia, in the northern Lomellina area, in the municipality of Castello d'Agogna. The municipality takes its name from the nearby river. Actually, this medieval castle, which I thought was called Castello d'Agogna, is named Castello Isimbardi, as I discovered. That's the only detail I managed to find about its history, and I don't even know who the owning family is. From the photos I've taken, you can see the recent restoration that has made it suitable for public and private events.

I remember that the company I worked for organized a beautiful private party here. It's great to see how the castle has been restored and is now used for various activities. At the end of this post, I'll leave you the official website of the castle, although honestly, I'm not sure if it's open for visits. I've never seen traces of people, entrances, or indications to visit, but it would certainly be an interesting addition from a tourist perspective, considering it's just a few kilometers from Milan. Maybe you can contact them through the website, and I genuinely hope you do.

Personally, I've always been fascinated by castles. They are mysterious and imposing places with fascinating architecture. I hope you enjoyed the photos I shared, and I'll definitely continue to share more places in my region. Unfortunately, I don't have an extensive knowledge of the history of these places, but I hope to convey something to you through the images, hoping to do a good job.
