Hello everyone! I'm here for another blog again. This time around, I'm going to share with you an unforgettable getaway trip I had with my mom and my sister. It's actually a teacher's field trip but since each teacher can go along with their family, mom went with me and my sister. Dad was left at home during this time because he had to take care of something.
This trip was back in 2016. We went to Dakak Park and Beach Resort in Zamboanga Del Norte. Oh my, that's 7 years ago but the memories I had of that trip were truly remarkable. I can't believe 7 years has passed already. So let me guide you through the trip.
Day 1: Departure Time
The trip is by land so it will take us more than 12 hours to get there. From Bukidnon, we had to travel to Cagayan de Oro, to Iligan, cross an island to Pagadian City, then travel to Zamboanga del Norte. We departed at around 1 a.m., and we got there at around 1 p.m. Imagine how exhausting the travel was.
The good thing about the travel was, the vehicle we rented was so spacious. It was definitely a comfortable ride along the way. We had the luxury to extend and stretch our legs to ease the tiredness.
Here's me and my younger sister inside the van waiting for the others to hop in after eating our breakfast.
At around 12 noon, we're finally at Zamboanga del Norte. Although we had to travel for an hour more to arrive at our main destination. Before heading to Dakak, we first visited Rizal Park and Shrine.
This is where our national hero, Jose Rizal spent his exile. It's great to see these historical places being preserved by Filipinos. I felt honored to have witnessed and stepped forth the house he used to live in back in the days.
After Rizal Park and Shrine, we're finally here!
The excitement was overwhelming. We were extremely excited and pumped up to check everything Dakak has to offer. This was where we stayed, we spent our first day sleeping. I mean, imagine a 12-hour trip, it's just draining. We booked a dorm-type room since there were more than 15 of us on the trip.
Day 2: Beach and Gloria's Fantasyland!
I wasn't feeling that energized the next day because I didn't have a decent sleep. You know the feeling of not being used to the ambiance of a new place to sleep in? That's how I felt but I shrugged it off and took the opportunity to enjoy my time.
We went to the beach and enjoyed the view. Very relaxing! We took a bath for a while and had to stop because there were small jellyfishes lurking around the sea. We wouldn't want to get electrified by them. It was an awful experience with the beach but the most that we got to enjoy was the activities held at night.
I honestly did not expect something from it. But when we entered the vicinity, I was astonished with how busy and lively the place was! We availed the ride-all-you-can package so we had the privilege to try as many rides as we want there!
Forgive me for having such a disorganized arrangement of my photos. My knowledge here in Hive is still in the works. Newbie here.
So there, we rode everything we felt like trying out or riding. We rode the Galleon, a huge boat that swings you from North to South! My lungs almost come out. I couldn't feel my feet after stepping out. The first few swings were tolerable but as the swing got higher, the more thrilling it was! I was pleading the guy who operated the ride to stop it but he didn't listen. I almost ran out of voice. After the ride, I had to settle myself first because I almost puked. It was hilarious. 😂
We get to take advantage of the 4D cinema too. We had to wear the 4D glasses for a complete, thrilling, exciting Zombieland experience. We really had fun!
We also tried out the bump cars. This was where I enjoyed a lot. We rode a lot of rides and they were all worth it! I must say that my inner child was healed and satisfied at that time.
And the most enjoyable part,
The Festival of Lights Parade.
While we were having a great time, we noticed some guys pulling out huge ropes and seemed to create a pathway. We had no idea what was happening until a guy started dancing with fire on the stage. It caught everyone's attention and from then, we watched the whole performance.
We thought it was over until we heard a loud bang of drums. It was a cue for the parade to start. We were so astonished to see beautiful lights around them. It was a magical sight.
I lost track of time because I definitely enjoyed the parade. I could still share more photos with you but these photos were only the ones I uploaded on Facebook and unfortunately, the old photos were saved on my phone which broke down years ago.
Everything felt so magical! I thought I was in Disneyland. I was so happy I got to experience it in my entire life. I would love to go back there. I heard that they have new shows and theme parks to enjoy once more.
Day 3: Goodbye Dakak!
It's time to say goodbye! We had to leave after lunch so we were still able to roam around the beach in the morning. Everyone was talking about how fun it was last night. Hangover feels!
While waiting for the others to be ready, here's a photo of myself chilling and enjoying the view taken by my younger sister.
After a few hours, it's time to go. It's kinda sad to leave the place that quick but it was all worth it. We want to go back for sure if given the chance. Before we left, we bought some souvenirs first.
We were able to depart at around 1:30 pm so we arrived here in the house 12 hours after. What a journey.
Definitely an experience I will forever remember. One of the best travel experiences we had.
So that's it! I hope you enjoyed this blog. You may find this blog helpful if you wanna visit Dakak soon.

Keep safe everyone.
