Blog #186: The Rainy Morning Visit @ The Well-known Reef's Farm With Sunflower Field in Tanjay City, Negros Oriental

in #hive-1637722 years ago

Happy Thursday Hivers!

Finally, I was able to visit the Reef's Farm this morning. Last week of March the Reef's Farm FB Page posted an update about the sunflower field and other flowers at their farm. On their FB Page update some flowers were already blooming, however, the sunflowers were not blooming yet. I sent them a message to get the exact information if when would be the sunflowers bloomed. "In the first or second week of April". That was the reply I received from them.

Five days ago, the Reef's Farm FB Page announced that they will be having their soft opening today. It overjoyed me when I read it and a feeling of intense excitement arose.

Will you allow me to take you to the farm? I assumed you said yes.

Before we'll begin our virtual tour, let me first give you a little information on how to get to Reef's Farm.

How To Get There

From Dumaguete City, you may take a Ceres Bus bound to Tanjay or you can ride a Ceres Bus with a signboard Bais City or Mabinay. Inform the bus collector to drop you off in Tanjay main town. It takes approximately 35~45 minutes of travel and the fare for unair-conditioned bus is Php54.00 (around $1) but I don't have idea if how much is the fare for the airconditioned bus.

Once alighted from the Ceres Bus, hire a tricycle to convey you to Reef's Farm. It takes approximately 5~10 minutes of travel and it costs you php20.00 for your fare.

Reef's Farm is located in Tanjay, Negros Oriental. It is one of the well-known tourist spots in Tanjay.

So let's begin our virtual tour.

The road going to the farm is just a flat road. You wouldn't encounter a challenging journey going to the place because of its cement concrete road. It is not creepy unlike to most farms I previously visited.

As I alighted from the tricycle, these colorful arrows welcomed me. What they have written on it are some of the tourist attractions in Negros Oriental.

The tricyccle driver instructed me to go straight, I just followed what he instructed.

As I arrived in the building made up of light materials, a man on his early 30s greeted me. "He was charming", I told myself.

I asked him first if I could order food for my breakfast. He first asked an apology if they could not prepare my order on time since their cook was not yet at the farm. They have suppossedly closed the farm today because of the heavy rain happened early in the morning but since the rain had stopped, he decided to push through the soft opening and contacted his workers to come to the farm. The man I had encountered is one of the owners of the farm. I gave him a smile and said "Don't worry, I'm willing to wait".

He offered me to come upstairs if I wanted to see the view of the farm from above. He pointed the stairs going up.

The tidy and relaxing spot greeted me after I ascended the stairs.

I slowly walked on the shiny bamboo floor and watched the outside view from above. And this scenic view I have seen as I placed my eyes on this direction. The fresh grasses on the field; the fresh leaves of the trees; and the beautiful flowers made me excite to go down and check the rice field. I don't know if you've seen some flowers. It's not really clear in the photo.

The pathway going to the field was slippery due to the heavy rain few hours before I arrived at the farm. The owner reminded me to walk slowly because of the muddy and slippery pathway. I slowly walked until I arrived to the rice field and these lovely flowers greeted me as I arrived.

The surrounding was fresh, maybe I should be grateful to the heavy rain because the rain helps the plants to turned it to be more beautiful.

I walked further and after I took few steps, I turned my back and saw this wonderful view. There were sunflowers lining up to both sides of the pathway. The beautiful design of the restaurant made the view more wonderful.

I continued walking until I saw this reminder to all the guests.

One of their employees told me that I could pick the flowers of water spinach if I wanted to put a flower on my ear. It's okay to pick a water spinach flowers.

I have noticed that the sunflowers in the rice field are not that many but it truly gives you a perfect photo. Because of it the place has an instagrammable and picturesque view.

This morning was my first time that I visited a place that has many sunflowers so I captured a lot of photos. Luckily, there was no other guests at the farm so I had a great opportunity to capture my angle preference.

Aside from the sunflowers and other different types of flowers at the Reef's Farm, I'd noticed that there was also an old VW Bug parked in the middle of the rice field.

Since I was with no one, I looked for someone who can capture a photo of me on top of an old car. Luckily, there was an employee who was near in my location so I asked him if he could took photos of me.

I just instructed him of my preferred angle and I was amazed on how he did it.

This is another part of the sunflower field. This area has many sunflowers compared to the first area I visited.

Aside from the sunflowers, the Reef's Farm has also planted different types of the flowers. I don't know the name of it.

While the owner and I were talking, he shared to me that their plan is to fill the whole rice field with sunflowers. What they have shown this time to the public is just an initial part of the plan.

After I enjoyed the moment with the lovely flowers in the rice field, I slowly walked going to the restaurant because after hours of enjoying the jaw-dropping scenery my stomach was already hungry and I need to have a breakfast because it was already too late.

My experience this morning in the Reef Farm was absolutely enjoyable. My eyes were full of lovely and colorful flowers. With the entrance fee of php80.00 (approximately $1.55) you can already have a perfect photo of yourself with the lovely flowers around you.
