Happy Thursday Hivers!
I know that I am yearning for a white sand beach with a wide shoreline, as it's already been a while since I have walked barefoot. I want to feel the fine sand on my feet. So, after my South Farm tour, I decided to go to the Alona Beach in Panglao, Bohol.
This was my third time visiting the place. During my previous visits, I was able to witness how festive the place is at nighttime during weekends. But when I visited there just recently, I didn't stay until nighttime as I needed to catch the last bus trip going to Tagbilaran City.
Alona Beach is the most famous beach on Bohol Island. Similar to Boracay Island, Alona Beach has many restaurants along the beach area. On weekends, it becomes the most festive place around Panglao Island, where live bands play at the beach area.
When the sun is about to set on the horizon, every restaurant sets up tables and chairs at the beach area where guests can enjoy the stunning scenery of the sea and the sky, with its beautiful colors as the sun sets.
While walking, I saw a few stalls that offer henna tattoos. If one would like to have a henna tattoo, they can easily find the stalls as they are just visible at the beach area.
As I reached this area, I immediately took off my shoes and felt the fine sand on my feet. It really gave a great feeling, especially since my feet got tired after a long walk at the South Farm.
While savoring it, I spotted foreigners who had just come from diving; they were still wearing diving suits. I was also entertained by the parasailing activity. While looking at it, I reminisced about the time I experienced parasailing. I recalled the moments when I had gone parasailing. At first, I was anxious, but when I was already above, all the anxious feelings were gone as I was able to see the stunning beauty of the entire Lapu-Lapu Island from above. It was truly a great experience.
As I continued hiking, I wasn't surprised to encounter many foreigners enjoying the stunning sight of the beach, as I know that Alona Beach is one of the favorites among foreigners in Panglao.
Although it was already a long walk, I was still a little bit far from the dead-end of Alona Beach. Since it is rare to walk barefoot on the beach, I took that opportunity to savor the moment.
As I checked the time, it was already almost 5 PM, so I decided to have my early dinner by the beach as I needed to catch the last bus trip to Tagbilaran City.
I looked for a restaurant that had only a few customers, but my experience at a certain restaurant was not good. I ordered a piece of chicken and one order of chopsuey. Do you know how long it took? It took 50 minutes before they served my order. I was certain they were not busy because they didn't have many customers at that time. I kept asking them, and one crew member kept telling me that my order was almost done. He explained to me that they wanted the food to be served fresh and hot. Although I already felt disappointed by their service, I didn't entertain the bad feeling that had started to arise. I just diverted my mind to the stunning scenery. And when 50 minutes had passed, I asked again about my order. And guess what? They served cold food, not hot. I was truly annoyed, but since the scenery was so wonderful, I just breathed deeply as I didn't want my day to be ruined.
Sometimes, there are experiences that make us annoyed, but it's up to us how to handle it. Although I felt annoyed, I refused to entertain that feeling because my whole day, in general, was truly great, and I didn't want to ruin it. I just focused on the wonderful things surrounding me, despite the bad service that the restaurant had.
Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!
