Happy Thursday Hivers!
This is the second farm in Bohol that I have visited since the day I started exploring Bohol. Both farms have offered interesting but different activities to tourists. At Bohol Bee Farm, I experienced eating their homemade ice cream, observing how raffia weaving was done, and exploring other traditional livelihoods. However, at South Farm, I had a different set of experiences that brought a tumult of joy to me. What happened during my South Farm tour? Check this out.
My goal that day was to slow down my pace because I constantly do things in a hurried manner, trying to finish everything before the day ends. But since it was a long weekend, there was no need to rush. I had enough time to complete my daily routines and enjoy the things I love.
I didn't wait for Saturday to escape the bustling city. I woke up early on Friday morning, but I didn't rush to take a shower and leave home. Instead, I just enjoyed the morning by preparing my healthy and delicious breakfast, listening to music, and taking a shower afterward.
It's so nice to sing your favorite songs while taking a shower. Have you also done the same? Because of that, I failed to notice the time.
The day was really nice, thinking that in a few minutes I would set off on another adventure. It was a day full of excitement, and the rush of anticipation completely enveloped me.
By the time I traveled to Panglao, where South Farm is located, I didn't hire a Bao driver to take me there because it is quite costly. I chose to go to Dao Terminal in Tagbilaran City and took the air-conditioned Ceres bus via Panglao Airport.
And when I arrived in Panglao, that's when I hired a Bao driver to take me to South Farm. My transportation expenses were way cheaper compared to hiring a Bao driver from Tagbilaran City.
When we arrived at the South Farm, the Bao driver dropped me off in front of the information center where one pays for the entrance. The entrance fee cost PHP 198.00 per person; however, PHP 100.00 of it is consumable.
By the time I arrived, I had my lunch first before starting to explore the farm.
I ordered pork baby back ribs with rice. I was astonished when the food was served because it came with a boiled banana. Hmm, that was indeed a satisfying lunch.
After finishing my lunch, the exploration began.
The botanical garden immediately caught my eye as I entered the entrance area. Although they don't have various varieties of flowers planted, the bougainvilleas and sunflowers, when combined, are enough to capture someone's attention and add beauty to the place.
The flowers were beautifully blooming.
After savoring the moment at the botanical garden, I headed farther, following the signs and pathways.
One cannot access the farm without the badge, which is provided upon payment of the entrance fee, costing PHP 198.00.
I immediately entered the moment I reached this area, as I already had my badge with me.
Upon entering through the native gate, I got the chance to see their dragon fruits. They only had a few dragon fruit plants, and this time they didn't bear fruits.
I continued to go farther until I reached this area. One would truly enjoy the natural scenery here. I relished walking under the canopied bamboos, indulging in the moment. Walking under these trees without rushing is truly therapeutic.
When I went to South Farm, I didn't miss the opportunity to feed the rabbits. If you've been following my blog, you know that I am fond of rabbits.
One of their farmers greeted me and handed me the moringa. I was delighted to accept it and feed the rabbits. At first, I fed only one rabbit, but when some of them noticed me with food in my hand, they came closer and began to eat.
After enjoying the moment with the rabbits, I also checked out their vegetable garden. They had a few vegetables planted. Since it was raining, I didn't stay longer in their vegetable garden because it was muddy.
I continued exploring until I saw another native house where the farm fun workshop is held. But by the time I arrived, it was quiet, and there were no kids around.
Since the koi pond is just near the workshop venue, I immediately noticed them as I took a glimpse at a different side of the farm.
One can also try horse riding if one wants to. Looking at the horse, I remembered my sister's bad experience with one. Her bad experience made me decide that I will never try horse riding activity.
They have many different kinds of animals, and if one wants to feed them, they can ask the farmers around for their food.
Let me also take you to my most favorite part of the farm—the fisherman's village.
So, welcome to the fisherman's village.
I was left in awe as I arrived in this area. The ambiance is so relaxing that I could stay here for a day with this amazing scenery. I kept saying 'wow' while walking.
Guests can enjoy fishing if they want. There are milkfish and tilapia. They can also request to cook their fresh catch and dine in at these native cottages.
The South Farm also has fresh prawns. If the guests want to order them, the kitchen personnel will just catch the prawns from here. At the South Farm, most of the food they serve to their customers is fresh, ensuring that they will be satisfied with what they eat.
Overall, I was truly satisfied with my South Farm adventure. I was satisfied with the food I had eaten, the activities I had done, and the stunning natural scenery. I still want to come back here, and maybe next time, I will experience fishing activity.
It's nice to sometimes slow down our pace because we will be able to notice and enjoy the simplest things in life. That's the end of my South Farm tour. I hope you enjoyed the virtual tour.
Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!
