Happy Saturday Hivers!
One of the bustling places in Aloguinsan, Cebu during holidays is the well-known Hermit's Cove. Due to its white sand and turquoise water, many locals and tourists are attracted to visit the place. In fact, many keep coming back.
I've known about the place for nearly two decades, long before the hype of social media. But believe me, I only visited the place recently. Our neighbor had invited me here before, but because my parents didn't allow me to go at that time due to my young age, I declined the invitation.
If you're coming from Cebu City, you can take a bus at Cebu South Bus Terminal bound for Aloguinsan. First, secure a ticket at the ticketing booth and inform the attendant about your route. I don't know the exact fare as my family and I didn't take public transportation. After obtaining your ticket, look for the bus with the signboard 'Aloguinsan.' If you have trouble finding the bus since there are many buses with different routes, don't hesitate to ask for assistance.
Once you're in Aloguinsan town, simply hire a motorcycle driver to take you to Hermit's Cove. It's approximately a 15 to 20-minute motorcycle ride.
As we arrived at the registration area, the person in charge collected an entrance fee of PHP 100 per person. Fortunately, we didn't have to pay for my father's entrance fee when I told her that he was already a senior citizen.
But for those who would like to spend the night, the entrance fee is higher at PHP 200.00 per person.
After we settled everything, I asked them to pose as if I were their photographer on that trip. Here's my problem: when I'm with them, they have beautiful pictures from a certain trip, while mine are just, well, not as good, as they are not fond of photography. Luckily, I was with my niece, who also loves photography. Have you ever experienced that? But it's okay, though, as I love taking pictures of them.
Do you know that my father enjoys having his picture taken? In fact, he frequently asks me to photograph him. He knows which angle and view are nice.
On our way to the beach, we passed through these steep stairs. I was a little worried about my father, but when I saw that he was just fine, I was relieved.
I was enthralled by the scenery as I reached this part where the mountains seemed to kiss the beach. It was a wonderful sight to behold.
As we arrived, I noticed that people seemed to be enjoying themselves at the beach. The deafening music and the laughter of children were the overpowering sounds you could hear all around the place.
We looked for a vacant cottage so we could rest properly. By the way, the cottages here are free of charge.
While my brother and his family enjoyed swimming, my father kept asking me if I could upload his photos on his Facebook account. He was excited to see his face on Facebook. Well, since it made him happy, I just supported his happiness.
Since it was already 5 PM, we slowly left the area because we didn't want to be caught on the road in the dark. The road is full of blind curves, and my brother is not very familiar with the place.
For the past 2 years, I have mostly spent my time traveling alone. I've visited different islands and cities on my own. Honestly, it was really nice to travel by myself, as I didn't have to adjust to anyone else's preferences. However, traveling with family is also enjoyable, as you get to experience beautiful places together. It's truly a wonderful bonding moment for the family.
Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!
