Hello everyone, for me too this village was a pleasant discovery, it is certainly a place that has a very important story to tell and that like many villages in Tuscany is there that survives over time, but unfortunately it has been forgotten.
This is the village of Carda, a small town in the mountains of the Municipality of Castel Focognano and is located practically 700 meters above sea level.
Finally this village is located on a hill and the most interesting attraction of Carda is its church dedicated to the martyrs Flora and Lucilla.
*The origin of this village most likely dates back to the Lombard era but there is no documentation that certifies the date of origin of Carda, many objects and sculptures have been found that bring us back to the Lombard style that can be dated around the tenth century, but as I was saying if you don't have documents it is difficult to understand when this village was born.
I must say that the village is really well kept, as you can also see from the photos I shared, the houses are renovated, even if unfortunately there are very few residents left, and this will be a problem for the maintenance of the place.
Think that here 20/30 years ago the population was large and super active especially in wood cutting and sheep farming, but also in agriculture, I must say that it is very pleasant to walk on these ups and downs of these internal streets of the village and it is certainly very suitable for lovers of short walks
A place rich in history and luckily I met some tourists during my walk, let's hope that over time these places will not be forgotten but enhanced.

Ciao a tutti anche per me questo borgo è stato una piacevole scoperta, è sicuramente un luogo che ha una storia molto importante da raccontare e che come tantissimi borghi della Toscana e li che sopravvive nel tempo, ma purtroppo è stato dimenticato.
Si tratta del borgo di Carda una piccola località nelle montagne del Comune di Castel Focognano e si trova praticamente a 700 metri di altitudine sul livello del mare.
Alla fine questo borgo si trova sopra una collina e l'attrazione più interessante di Carda è proprio la sua chiesa dedicata alla martire Flora e Lucilla.
*L'origine di questo borgo molto probabilmente è di epoca Longobarda ma non c'è una documentazione che certifichi la data di origine di Carda, sono state trovati tanti oggetti e sculture che ci riportano allo stile Longobardo che può essere datato intorno al decimo secolo, ma come vi dicevo se non si hanno dei documenti è difficile capire quando è nato questo borgo.
Devo dire che comunque il borgo è veramente tenuto bene, come potete anche vedere dalle foto che ho condiviso le case sono ristrutturate, anche se purtroppo sono rimaste pochissime persone residenti, e questo sarà un problema per il mantenimento del posto.
Pensate che qui 20/30 anni fa la popolazione era molta e super attiva specialmente nel taglio del legno e nella pastorizia, ma anche nell'agricoltura, devo dire che è molto piacevole camminare su questi puntini saliscendi di di queste stradine interne al borgo ed è sicuramente opposto molto indicato per gli amanti della breve passeggiata
Un posto ricco di storia e per fortuna che nella mia camminata ho incontrato qualche turista speriamo che nel tempo questi posti non vengano dimenticati ma valorizzati.
