Let me show you today some beautiful HIGHLIGHTS from the CITY OF SKELLEFTEÅ ~ in Västerbotten County, SWEDEN 🇸🇪 on a very bright blue and #SUNNY #WINTERS day.
We will walk through the cities park and towards one of the widest FROZEN #RIVER I have seen 🥶
I like this cute city and I am happy to share it with you today 😊
We are much further north now and it fits right in with the road trip I am still sharing from earlier this year.

Put on your sunglasses 😎 gloves and scarf 🧣 and of course a warm winter jacket 🧥
Here we go…!
We start at the large city’s park.
On the edge of it we see the letters that form the name of the city : SKELLEFTEÅ. So cool 😎
The sun had the right position and a beautiful #shadow from the letters was cast on the ground. The city’s town hall we see on the left.
Opposite the letters, across a road, there is a very very cute statue. Shall we have a look?
It looks at you 🦌 very curiously 😊
A beautiful deer.
It is created by the late artist “Arvid Knöppel” a long time ago. See here for more information about the artist : Arvid Knöppel
To my surprise I find in the park some trees with still fruits on them. The trees have no leaves 🍂 anymore, just the fruits.
The fruit is battered by the wintery weather if we have a closer look. Still it makes an awesome capture ofnthe orange fruit 🧡 against the bright blue sky. 💙
The fountain area of the park has almost no snow anymore. But the rest of the park has still a lot of snow ⛄️ I guess it is an area that is used a lot by people. Like a thoroughfare…
Let’s wander a bit further through the park. We see another #statue. Let’s have a closer look 🥰 as it looks very interesting.

He sits under the tree 🌳 the snow is melted around him but on the grass area there is still more.
The #artist added so many little details, just have a close look at this statue. The fabrics are well executed.
Even the shoes have a lot of details. You could almost feel the #texture of his clothing and shoes. 🤓
The boy was created by the artist Knutte Wester.

Wandering further through the park we end up next to the river. That runs through the city of Skellefteå out into the Gulf of Bothnia. It is called Skellefte älven/ river.

We look to the left and see the river is covered by ice and snow. Fully frozen 🥶 although it started to melt at the edges. Wow what a view! 😳

… looking up.
What a cool sight, the sun ☀️ is bright and warms our faces. So needed with all the snow ❄️
It is pretty interesting to see such a large and wide river. My widest frozen river 🥶 I had seen so far.
There is a walking path all along the rivers edge and one could walk for hours on end… even going outside of the city back into #nature and #forests, it is beautiful and just away from the city. The locals are so appreciating these areas. They take advantage of it everyday to exercise 🏃♂️
We walked further and look back at the large bridge.
We continue for a little while. The blue sky compliments the snowy landscape.
