I hope you all are doing great. Today I’ll be sharing you about my hometown, Wazirabad, which is one of the historic cities of Pakistan. It was founder by Wazir khan and thus named Wazirabad, it was existed even before the separation of Pakistan. It has many historic places in it. Today we went to visit some of them, so its good time to introduce you guys too with my city.
This is a place called, “Sheikhon ki haveli” in Wazirabad. It is such an old building built by a businessman in 18th century. Now it’s known for its unique structural design and elegance.
It is surrounded by beautiful trees. By looking from far away one can not admire its beautiful intricate details so I stepped in to observe its detailed structure.
This is the gate from where one can enter the main area of the place. Upon entering the place you’ll see the stunning piece of art in front of your eyes.
This was the main gate of the building. Built with tiny old fashioned bricks.
And the galaries of the place were too beautiful. These tiny holes were so beautifully built. The sequence is everything.
Now this is the upper view of the building. There were these windows and a balcony.
Then the windows on the ground floor had my heart. They were so beautiful that I could not took my eyes off them.
Also all these ground floor windows were in a great sequence this was such a good thing to watch.
Everything about this place was amazing. After exploring this place, we went to another place called “Dak Chawki”.
This is a very popular place in wazirabad and is recently reconstructed to maintain its original structure.
It was awarded in of being the special premises of Punjab, Pakistan.
The structure of it is veey simple yet unique. It wqs used in old times as the place for the travellers to rest during their travel.
As you can see the upper building is completely reconstructed but these stairs and the lower area where the old bricks are shown are still the old ones.
This place has 4 doors, without doors🤌🏻
The interior structure of the place looks like this. The thin wall intricate patterns are there.

I was lucky enough to witness the sunset view from there, it was such a beautiful thing to witness!
On the other side of the road beside the “Dak chawki” there is “Lakkar wala pul” . Lakkar means wood so it was a bridge built over the railway station made of wood only but later on iy was constructed with cement.
There are the wide stairs by which one can cross the bridge.

Below this bridge there is the ancient railway station of Wazirabad. This railway station was built before the seperation of Pakistan, by british government.

The train signals were also be seen from the bridge.
Upon entering the railway junction this the board you will see at first.
This the waiting area of the railway station where the passengers wait before boarding to the train. This whole area is not renovated since then. It is a pure ancient structure. Behind the waiting area the tuc shop is situated so one can buy stuff.
I noticed this beautiful clock around the corner of the waiting area.
On the other side of the station there were sheds where some luggage trains were present.

Behind this shed area there were some doors that were locked up, they seemed like tiny rooms. But I couldn’t figure out what they actually were and for what purpose they were used.
The locks on the doors also seemed like very old.
Then the train arrived at the station, I immediately clicked one picture of it.
Lastly, I went to this place called “Baoli” it is an onld well. Which was used in ancient times to meet the daily needs of peoples lives. However this well was used by only royal families as it was built by Sher Shah Suri the emperor of subcontinent that time.
This is the front structure of the baoli, while the well is deep following by large stairs.
This the structure of the well. This well is not functional now but it was very useful that time. Besides the well there were two rooms when we go down through stairs.
I don’t know for what purpose these rooms were used in past. But they were very small. Anyhow the walls of the well were so antique and such a piece of art. This is the upclose picture of the walls.
Lastly, along the well there was a temple a few miles away.
It was so small and there was no space to go inside it. But its design was unique to me.
And just like this, we ended up our day one of exploring our own city. Even though there are multiple places that we couldn’t manage to visit. But I have plans to visit them too. I hope you guys liked the blog too. See you guys in the next one. Till then, bye bye👋.
