"The milling salvation" or "cembengan" or "selamatan giling" is a tradition that is routinely held to start the sugar cane milling season at the sugar factory. This tradition is carried out to ask for safety during the production process and to ask for crystal sugar to be produced in abundance. In a series of "selamatan giling" events, the "Kirap Manten Tebu" is the event that gets the most attention.

If you live in Jave and near from sugar factory, I'm sure you will see the celebration every year. Here i want to share to you my documentation of the festivities of the event. This place is in Rendeng Sugar Factory, Kudus, Central Java. I hope you enjoy.

Traditional Ceremonies

Preliminary activity is praying in the sugar cane field, The garden is a garden where the sugar cane to be married is taken.

The next day, sugar cane is made up like a person who is going to be a bride. After that, the sugar cane bride is accompanied to the sugar cane mill and the series of events ends with a meal together.
