Hello hive family. I hope you all are well.
On 28-01-24, Vipul, a guest at my homestay, asked me to go somewhere. Although there is plenty of room for hiking, I want my guests to have a unique hiking experience. So we start walking from home at 8 am to Deerthu Mata Temple. I also take my dog Dhondu there, this is Dhondu's first trek too.The historical and ancient temple of Derthu Mata Devi is situated at an altitude of about 10,000 feet above sea level.

Although there is a road from Narkanda market to this temple, we prefer to go through the beautiful deodar forest. This trek is a total round trip of nineteen kilometers. After climbing a kilometer from home, we reach the shop. We take food items from the shop and start climbing further. While walking we reach dense deodar forests and Vipul says wow, what a wonderful view. Even though it is cold weather, I am sweating while walking. After walking for some time, we reach an open field from where the view of the Himalayas looks quite beautiful. Vipul says let's take some rest here and have coffee. So I gather wood and build a fire and make coffee.

We had coffee and looked at the Himalayas looking beautiful as always and Dhondu also enjoying biscuits and the forest. After drinking coffee, we started walking, Dhondu is in the lead, he also seems happy to be here, the forest is quite calm and beautiful. Evergreen trees are the beauty of this forest. There are many old cedar trees in this forest. There is also moss on these trees. Now we have come out of the forest and come to the open field. The water pond here is dry and at some places some water has frozen due to cold. However, these grounds look even better during the rainy season when colorful flowers bloom and greenery is visible all around. Right now everything is dry.

After walking for three hours we reach the temple. This temple remains closed these days. So we sit outside the temple and see the carvings of the temple from outside. This temple looks quite beautiful amid the dense forest. We do not stay there for long and return home by the same route.
