Hello hive family. I hope you all are healthy.
I spend most of my time in my apple orchard and with my parents. When there is no work in the fields, I go out for a hiking. It is about June 2023.
I talk to two of my friends on Instagram. He had been telling me for a long time that he should go out somewhere. So our plan is made for Chandranahan lakes situated in the last village Janglik of Tehsil Rohru of Shimla district. Whose height is approximately 4260m.
We are three people. We all meet at Rohru from where we take a bus to Janglik.
Our trek starts from Janglik, a village with very beautiful old style houses which add to the beauty of this village. The path is so charming that it will leave you spellbound. It passes through dense forests of oak and deodar trees. They look like a painting when you pass through them. While walking, we reach Daraya Thatch, there we eat Maggi and tea. It is an open grassland. Here, animals are grazing on the grass. Under the blue sky, the green grassland looks so beautiful as if I am in heaven.
It looks as if someone has left a timelapse on. After eating and seeing the beauty of this place, we move ahead. The views are so beautiful that we don't even feel tired.
We now reach Lithim and pitch our tent and head towards Chandranahan Lake. This lake is also the source of Pabbar river. There is a very steep climb and a rocky path to reach Chandranahan. After an hour, we reach the peak. There is a sheet of white snow all around, we do not see any lake here.
We follow the man's footprints on the snow. After walking for some time, the footprints end and we do not see any lake. When we see our location on Google Map, the map shows us at the fourth lake. We head back towards our camp in Lithim, all the lakes are buried in snow. After some time we reach our tent, have dinner and sleep. As soon as we wake up in the morning, we come back towards Janglik village.
I hope you enjoy this hike with me through my blog.
