We made the most of the day in Porto Covo, with its narrow streets and whitewashed houses, decorated with colorful flowers that contrasted with the blue sky. The town was lively around lunchtime, with tourists wandering the sidewalks, exploring the craft shops and cafes.

Aproveitamos bem o dia em Porto Covo, com as suas ruas estreitas e casas caiadas de branco, adornadas com flores coloridas que contrastavam com o azul do céu. A vila perto da hora de almoço estava animada, com turistas a deambular pelas calçadas, explorando as lojinhas de artesanato e os cafés .
With the sun already high, we decided it was the perfect time to visit Pessegueiro Island, a place we've already visited but always return to. We left Porto Covo towards the island and chose to walk. There are lots of trails, some of which we did many years ago on a segway and this time, we remembered the same ones but on foot.

Com o sol já alto, decidimos que era o momento perfeito para visitar a Ilha do Pessegueiro, um lugar que já visitamos mas ao qual voltamos sempre. Saímos de Porto Covo em direção à ilha e optamos por ir a pé. Existem imensos trilhos , alguns que fizemos há muitos anos de segway e desta vez, recordamos os mesmos mas a pé.
We decided to explore the small beaches and coves on the island. We found a hidden corner, with golden sand and stones that formed a small natural pool, perfect for a swim.
We went down the stairs but always carefully. There are many cliffs on this coast and you need to be extra careful and not put your towels near these places. The water was incredibly clear and cool, an irresistible invitation on a hot day. We spent time swimming and resting on the sand, surrounded by the sound of the waves and the tranquility that the island offers.

Decidimos ir explorarando as pequenas praias e enseadas da ilha. Encontrámos um cantinho escondido, com areia dourada e rochas que formavam uma pequena piscina naturail, perfeita para um mergulho.
Descemos a escadaria mas sempre com cuidado. Existem muitas arribas nesta costa e é necessário ter cuidado redobrado e não colocar as toalhas perto destes locais. A água estava incrivelmente límpida e fresca, um convite irresistível num dia de calor. Passámos algum tempo a nadar e a descansar na areia, rodeados pelo som das ondas e pela tranquilidade que a ilha oferece.
We walked until we reached the island, observing the vegetation and birds that make the island their home. There is a simplicity and purity to Ilha do Pessegueiro that is difficult to find elsewhere. The feeling of being surrounded by untouched nature along the way, far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, is invigorating.

Caminhámos até chegar à ilha, observando a vegetação e as aves que fazem da ilha o seu lar. Há uma simplicidade e uma pureza na Ilha do Pessegueiro que é difícil de encontrar noutros lugares. A sensação de estar rodeado por natureza intocada pelo caminho, longe do corre corre do dia-a-dia, é revigorante.
Next time I would like to travel these paths on horseback, as we saw some people do. It must be spectacular :-)
The sun was beginning to set, dyeing the sky and sea with shades of orange and pink and the birds were all returning to spend the night. We returned to our refuge at the end of the day, with our hearts full of memories and a sense of peace. Ilha do Pessegueiro is truly a natural refuge, where beauty and tranquility combine perfectly, providing a unique and unforgettable experience.

Da próxima vez gostava de percorrer estes caminhos a cavalo, como vimos algumas pessoas fazerem. Deve ser espetacular :-)
O sol começava a descer, tingindo o céu e o mar com tons de laranja e rosa e os passáros regressavam todos para passar a noite. Voltámos para o nosso refúgio ao fim do dia, com o coração cheio de memórias e uma sensação de paz. A Ilha do Pessegueiro é verdadeiramente um refúgio natural, onde a beleza e a tranquilidade se combinam de forma perfeita, proporcionando uma experiência única e inesquecível.
