I am very excited that I have a great opportunity to participate in this community today. I've finally made up my mind to travel down to Jos for my industrial training (I.T).
Jos is a state in Nigeria known to be one among the coldest, am so excited because this journey as given me an opportunity to participate very well in this community, and therefore I am writing in details my journey experience together with quality detailed picture of every experience in this journey.
In the picture above, that's me right inside the car and ready to take off. Meanwhile before living the garage, I observed some few things one among is the condition of the car tyres which wasn't bad to travel with. You know some drivers can be very ignorant of that fact thereby endangering the life of passengers on the road with half death tyres and I don't want to be a victim so I did the needful
The little challenge was the large number of loggages which got the boot filled up before arriving with my own goods but we later profer some solutions for the large number of goods.
I picked the smallest among my goods and put it in front of the car, it was right in front of me as shown below. I confidently put it there because I was seating in the front seat beside the driver and perhaps it's the smallest among my goods and doesn't obstruct my front view neither does it cause any uncomfortability to the driver.
We took off at exactly 12:50pm Nigerian time.
Journey from Nasarawa state to Jos which is the capital of Plateau State normally doesn't last more than four hours, according to what I was told. I once traveled to Jos but that was during my primary school days when we went for excussion, so the experience then wasn't that much compared to now.
The journey at first wasn't lively as everyone in the car seems to be very serious doing nothing, hahaha😄😄.
I don't know how you would want your journey to be like but I prefer a kind of lively journey where you can all be chatting in the car moderately. Moderately here I mean there should still be orderliness in the car so as to avoid road calamities and dangers.
It was quarter pass the hour of 2 o'clock approximately 1hour 25 minutes since we took off, there was a great need for man to eat some snacks so I longed for a bus stop and when we arrived one, I bought a drink and biscuits. Wow, it's lovely taking some snacks and drink while traveling right? I enjoyed it sincerely
After my snacks I had some more energy and engaged the driver in some little talk, guess what, the driver was a master's holder.
This is how Nigeria could be, it's very sad you know, after going to school and at the end there's no job for you while you need to survive.
The driver was speaking so intelligently that I had to compose myself very well to be able to blend in the conversation so I asked him alot of questions and he was very kind to answer me politely, trust me it was really an interactive session. He told me how much he struggled to accomplish His degree down to his masters program, He sponsored Himself through the college, through the university and through His Masters program, He told me the car he is using to convey passengers was from his pocket he afforded it.
The story of the driver really motivated me, I strongly believe there's always a better tomorrow, and thou the sorrows may last for a night Joy's gonna be our strength.
During our journey, approaching to our destination, I experienced some few things.
I saw alot of irrigation farming system, and alot of people hawking by the roads side compare to where I was coming from.
Hawking by the road seems to be one of there very good source of income. I understood Jos is like a home of vegetables and fruits, we didn't stop at junctions where I could pictorially present plenty of this vegetables and fruits market very well, but I've got opportunity to take only the below picture.
I was able to take that shot because someone was droping from the car, she has reached her destination, wow! we are in Jos already. Finally the bad roads is better.
I got to my stop point and while I was waiting for my friend to come and pick me up, I wanted taking some snapshots of the environment I am, so I can bring it down here, but it was crowded and so busy, traders moving up and down, pedestrians all around but through the little I snapped, you can see the roundabout of old airport Jos.
My Journey was really a successful one. Few minutes later my friend came picked me up.
I am safe and grateful. Got home it was exactly 4:24pm Nigerian time. My journey lasted for roughly 3hours 34minutes which means our driver was a bit faster because I was told it use to be a 4hours journey but it's not bad, I had a splendid journey.
