Our beautiful city, Antalya, which is always at the forefront with its natural beauties and ancient cities, is a cultural heritage that sheds light on Turkish history. Today, I will tell you about a completely hidden waterfall that has taken its place in the heart of nature. We will turn our route to our waterfall, which is located in the Karapınar valley between the Beydağları of the Mediterranean and is known as Gelin waterfall among the people.

Bugün de sizlere doğanın kalbinde kendine yer edinmiş, tamamen gizli kalmış bir şelaleden bahsedeceğim. Akdeniz'in Beydağları arasında bulunan Karapınar vadisinin içinde yer alan ve halk arasında Gelin şelalesi olarak anılan şelalemize rotamızı çevireceğiz.
I see the bridal waterfall as one of the places I've seen recently and never stepped foot in. Although it is a popular waterfall, many travelers do not want to tell their location for directions. With the help of a little navigation and some help from the people living in the region, we were finally able to find this beautiful waterfall. Now I will try to explain to you how to go to this completely hidden waterfall in the simplest way. Transportation to the region is provided from Serik district of Antalya. When you come to Serik district, you have to follow the road to Akbaş pond. After crossing the lake, you come across two roads. There is no sign on the side of the road for the bridal waterfall. From these two roads, you need to choose the road to the left. After driving for about 10 minutes with your vehicle, the road deteriorates a little and you continue on the dirt road for about 1 km and park your vehicle at a suitable point. Afterwards, a narrow walking path with stony soil awaits you. After completing this road, you have to descend to the creek flowing downhill from the side of the road to reach the waterfall. You can reach the waterfall by pressing the large stones on the surface of the stream. The stream bed flowing by the side of the waterfall will also be a road map for you.
Gelin şelalesini son zamanlarda gördüğüm ve ayak basılmayan yerlerden biri olarak görüyorum. Popüler bir şelale olmasına rağmen yol tarifi konusunda bir çok gezginci yerini söylemek istemiyor. Biraz navigasyon yardımıyla biraz da yörede oturan halktan yardım alarak bu güzel şelaleyi sonunda bulabildik. Şimdi bu tamamen gizlenmiş şelaleye nasıl gidileceğini sizlere en basit şekliyle anlatmaya çalışacağım. Bölgeye ulaşım Antalya'nın Serik ilçesinden sağlanıyor. Serik ilçesine geldiğinizde, Akbaş göletine giden yolu takip etmeniz gerekiyor. Gölü geçtikten sonra karşınıza iki yol çıkıyor. Gelin şelalesi için yol kenarında herhangi bir tabela bulunmuyor. Bu iki yoldan sol tarafa doğru giden yolu tercih etmeniz gerekiyor. Aracınızla yaklaşık 10 dakika ilerledikten sonra yol biraz bozuluyor ve toprak yolda yaklaşık 1 km devam ederek, uygun bir noktaya aracınızı park ediyorsunuz. Sonrasında sizi taşlı topraklı dar bir yürüyüş yolu bekliyor. Bu yolu da tamamladıktan sonra şelaleye ulaşmak için yolun kenarından yokuş aşağı akan dereye inmeniz gerekiyor. Derenin yüzeyinde bulunan büyük taşlara basarak şelaleye ulaşabiliyorsunuz. Şelale, yolunun kenarında akan dere yatağı da size yol haritası olacaktır.
The water coming to the Gelin waterfall extends from the Taurus Mountains to the Beydağları. Streams and waterfalls are formed by the melting of the snow water accumulating on the high hills and combining with the falling rain water. There are three more beautiful waterfalls in this region. Ett waterfall, which is located above the Gelin waterfall and is about 1 km away, also transfers the water to the pool here. The waterfall, which has a very large pool, releases its water into the pool from a high slippery mossy rock. The main source of water comes from the village of meats. The water flowing from the waterfall is connected to the creek bed passing by it. The water of this creek flows through thick mossy stones and reaches to the viking pool nearby.
Gelin şelalesine gelen su Toroslardan Beydağlarına kadar uzanmaktadır. Yüksek tepelerde biriken kar sularının erimesi ve yağan yağmur sularıyla birleşerek dereler ve şelaleler oluşmaktadır. Bu bölgede birbirinden güzel üç şelale daha bulunmaktadır. Gelin şelalesinin yukarısında yer alan ve yaklaşık 1 km uzaklıkta olan etler şelalesinin suyu da buradaki havuza aktarmaktadır. Oldukça geniş bir havuzu olan şelale, yüksek kaygan yosunlu bir kayanın üstünden suyunu havuzuna bırakmaktadır. Suyun asıl kaynağı etler köyünden gelmektedir. Şelaleden akan su, yanı başından geçen dere yatağına bağlanmaktadır. Bu dere suyu kalın yosunlu taşların arasından süzülerek, yakınında bulunan viking havuzuna kadar uzanmaktadır.
The water currents of the three waterfalls in the region have created many natural pools here. You can see all of these pools by following the waters flowing over the natural rock pieces. I discovered a few of the pools you see below by following the flow of the water.
Bölgede bulunan üç şelalenin su akıntıları burada bir çok doğal havuzlar oluşturmuşlar. Doğal kaya parçalarının üstünden akan suları takip ederek bu havuzların hepsini görebilirsiniz. Aşağıda gördüğünüz havuzları suyun akışını takip ederek bir kaçını ben keşfettim.
Even though the water of this waterfall has flowed a little in summer, the beautiful color and cold water of the pool remains in place. In winter, it is not possible to see even the natural stone in the form of a strip standing in front of the pool in heavy rains. You can't even get close to the pool. Differently formed natural stones around it add a different atmosphere to the beauty of this place. In order to see the pool closely, you have to step over these natural stones. I must say that the stones alone are quite slippery. You have to pass carefully. Around this waterfall, which is hidden in the forest, I come across tree species whose names I do not know.
Yazın bu şelalenin suyu az akmış olsa da havuzun o güzel rengi ve soğuk suyu yerinde duruyor. Kışın ise aşırı yağışlarda havuzun önünde duran şerit halindeki doğal taşı bile görmek mümkün olmuyor. Hatta havuzun yanına bile yanaşamıyorsunuz. Etrafındaki farklı şekilde oluşmuş doğal taşlar da buranın güzelliğine ayrı bir hava katıyor. Havuzu yakından görebilmek için bu doğal taşlarının üstüne basa basa geçmek zorundasınız. Yalnız taşların oldukça kaygan olduğunu söylemeliyim. Dikkatli geçmek gerekiyor. Ormanın içinde saklanmış olan bu şelalenin etrafında adını bilmediğim ağaç türlerine de rastlıyorum.
Since the place we came to is a region where not many people set foot in the forest, there are no facilities and businesses around. The phone pulls partially. It will be better for you to come with a few snacks and water bowls that you will take in your backpack. Since we had some confusion on the roads we passed on the way here, we set some points in our minds as the way back. While passing by the roadside, where mostly pine and alder species are abundant, feeling the scent of plants spreading around adds a different pleasure to the journey. But I can say that it hurts me to see the trees being cut down at some points.
Geldiğimiz yer, ormanın içi çok fazla insanın ayak basmadığı bir bölge olduğu için etrafta her hangi bir tesis ve işletme bulunmuyor. Telefon ise kısmi olarak çekiyor. Sırt çantasına alacağınız bir kaç atıştırmalık ve su kabınızla gelmeniz sizin için daha iyi olacaktır. Buraya gelirken geçtiğimiz yollarda biraz karışıklık yaşadığımız için bazı noktaları dönüş yolu olarak kafamızda belirledik. Çoğunlukla çam ve kızılağaç türlerinin bol olduğu yol kenarından geçerken mis gibi bitki kokuların da etrafa yayıldığını hissetmek yolculuğa ayrı bir keyif katıyor. Ama bazı noktalarda ağaçların kesildiğini görmekte içimi acıttı diyebilirim.
Camping at the points close to the waterfalls seems a bit difficult. When you look at the land in general, there is no possibility to camp because it is located in large pieces of rocks and lush forest. The snow waters flowing in the stream are very cold. However, in some parts of the water drawn in the summer, you can cool off by entering the water. Since the region is quite high above sea level, you often have to go up the slope.
Şelalelere yakın olan noktalarda kamp yapmak biraz zor görünüyor. Arazinin geneline bakıldığında büyük kaya parçaları ve gür ormanın içinde yer aldığı için kamp yapma imkanı da bulunmuyor. Derede akan kar suları çok soğuk oluyor. Fakat yaz aylarında çekilen suyun bazı bölümlerinde suya girerek serinleyebilirsiniz. Bölge deniz seviyesinin oldukça yükseğinde olduğu için çoğunlukla bayır yukarı çıkmak zorunda kalıyorsunuz.
