As you take your steps, let me take you to a magical atmosphere where you can feel the wind passing through the green forest and fall in love with the sounds coming from the top of the soil you step on. This is the Küre Mountains National Park, also known as Horma Canyon. I can say that it is one of the most beautiful spots in the Western Black Sea. Let's take a journey together to the hills, mountains and water-extracting rocks where I lived my childhood, what do you say?
My parents were not very keen on my brothers and sisters and me coming to this forest park. They were a bit worried because we were young. My brother, the oldest of us, would take us here dressed in clothes reminiscent of a scout costume. This beautiful forest park, where we used to get away on weekends, is located in Pınarbaşı district of Kastamonu province. Horma canyon, which is about 5 km away from the district, is a hidden corner of paradise with a flawless natural beauty that most people are not aware of. When you come here, you will see how green dominates the earth. Entrance to the Küre Mountains National Park is chargeable. You have to pay 120 TL per person when entering the canyon. The canyon offers us an untouched, untouched natural wonder with its lush forest where the sun's rays pass through the green, ice-cold water from the Küre Mountains and impressive giant stone cauldrons.
There is a stream coming from the top of the Küre Mountains and passing through the canyon. This stream is called Zarı Stream. This stream flows into the sea, finally exiting the Ilıca Waterfall, which is close to the Horma Canyon. Horma Canyon, which reveals all the beauty of the Western Black Sea, has a very favorable region for those who like to walk. Thanks to the walking bands made of wood on the giant rocks, you can easily walk around. Thanks to this wooden platform mounted with thick large nails, you walk accompanied by a symphony of bird sounds. It felt really enjoyable.
As you travel through the canyon, you pass through narrow stony paths between tree branches that protect you from the sun. Each time you step on these stony paths, which stick to the soil in a speckled shape, you are hit by the wind passing through the giant rocks and high mountains. The activity that will give you the greatest pleasure here will be trekking. You will feel like you are in the middle of a fairy tale as you walk through the branches of the trees on your left and right, hearing the sound of the rushing stream. During this walk, you can immortalize the moment by taking pictures of every natural wonder you see around you.
Enjoy the day in the Horma canyon, in a lush green nature, watching the beauty of nature. There are facilities here to meet your needs. There are also restrooms and masjid close to these facilities. Before you start touring the canyon, I recommend you to take water with you. There are no businesses in the canyon. Because you will be on a long and tiring track. You will find yourself in nature's house by walking about 3 km on a stone and wooden walking band. Some of the tree branches you see may seem scary to you. Some of them look like snakes wrapped around a tree.
As you walk through the National Park, I am sure you will feel the peace flowing into your soul with the sound of the water, the beauty of nature and the colorful plants you come across. Suddenly you will find yourself in the enthusiasm and curiosity of adventure. I can say that the only point you should pay attention to here is that there are deep cavities and unpredictable wells in the canyon caused by the erosion of the Zarı Stream.
In the Horma canyon, the most active months of the year are April and May. With the arrival of spring, the canyon reveals all the colors of green. When September comes, the trees, which release their leaves, start a riot of colors on the soil.
As we traveled through this beautiful canyon, we always returned home late because we lost track of time. We were warned by our parents a few times because of this. But despite everything, I would like you to see this beauty. Because I believe that our dreams and passions can be realized through new discoveries.

Ailem, kardeşlerimle birlikte, bu orman parkına gelmemize pek sıcak bakmakdı. Yaşlarımız küçük olduğu için biraz enşide duyardı. En büyüklerimiz olan abim, izci kostümünü anımsatan kıyafetlerle bizi buraya götürürdü. Hafta sonları, kaçamak yaptığımız bu güzel orman parkı, Kastamonu ilinin Pınarbaşı ilçesinde yer alıyor. İlçeye yaklaşık 5 km uzaklıkta olan Horma kanyonu, çoğu kişinin farkında olmadığı, kusursuz bir doğal güzelliğe sahip olan gizli bir cennet köşesidir. Buraya geldiğinizde, yeşilin, yeryüzüne nasıl hakimiyet kurduğunu göreceksiniz. Küre Dağları Milli Parkına girişler ücretlidir. Kanyona girerken kişi başı 120 TL ödemeniz gerekiyor. Güneş ışınlarının yeşilin içinden geçtiği gür ormanıyla, kaynağını Küre dağlarından alan buz gibi suyu ve etkileyici dev taş kazanlarıyla, kanyon bize, el değmemiş, bir doğa harikası sunuyor.
Küre Dağlarının en tepesinden gelen ve kanyonun içinden geçen bir çay var. Bu çaya Zarı Çay'ı adı veriliyor. Bu çay, ilerleyerek, en son olarak, Horma kanyonuna yakın olan Ilıca Şelalasinden çıkarak denize dökülüyor. Batı Karadeniz'in tüm güzelliğini ortaya çıkaran Horma Kanyonu, yürümeyi sevenler için, de oldukça elverişli bir bölgeye sahiptir. Dev kayaların üzerine, ahşaptan yapılan yürüme bantları sayesinde, etrafı rahatlıkla gezebiliyorsunuz. Kalın büyük çivilerle monte edilen bu ahşap platform sayesinde, kuş sesleri senfonisi eşliğinde yürüyorsunuz. Bu gerçekten çok keyifli hissettirdi.
Kanyonun içini gezerken, sizi güneşten koruyan ağaç dallarının arasında oluşan dar taşlı yollardan geçiryorsunuz. Benekli şekille toprağa yapışan bu taşlı yollara her bastığınızda, dev kayalardan sarpan ve yüksek dağlardan geçen rüzgarın hışımına uğruyorsunuz. Burada sizlere en büyük keyif verecek olan aktivite doğa yürüyüşü olacaktır. Ertafınızı saran sağlı sollu ağaç dalların arasından, gürül gürül akan derenin sesini duyarak yürürken, kendinizi bir masalın ortasında hissedeceksiniz. Bu yürüyüş sırasında, etrafınızda gördüğünüz her doğa harikası manzaranın resmini çekerek, anı da ölümsüzleştirebilirsiniz.
Horma kanyonunda, yemyeşil bir tabiatın içinde, doğanın güzelliğini seyrederek günün keyfini çıkarın. Burada ihtiyaçlarınızı karşılayacak tesisler bulunuyor. Bu tesislere yakın tuvalet ve mescid de var. Kanyonu gezmeye başlamadan önce yanınıza mutlaka su almanızı öneririm. Kanyon içinde herhangi bir işletme bulunmuyor. Çünkü uzun ve yorucu bir parkurun içinde olacaksınız. Taşlı ve ahşap yürüyüş bandında, yaklaşık 3 km yürüreyerek kendinizi doğanın evinde bulacaksınız. Gördüğünüz bazı ağaç dalları, size ürkütücü gelebilir. Bazıları sanki ağaca dolanan yılanlar gibi görünüyorlar.
Milli Parkın içinde yürüken, suyun sesi, doğanın güzelliği ve karşınıza çıkan rengarenk bitkilerle, ruhunuza akan huzuru hissedeceğinize eminim. Bir anda kendinizi maceranın coşkunun ve meraklı duygularının içinde bulacaksınız. Burada dikkat etmeniz gereken tek nokta, kanyonun içinde, Zarı Çay'ının aşınmalardan kaynaklı etrafta oluşturduğu, derin oyuklar ve nerden çıkacağı belli olmayan kuyular olduğunu söyleyebilirim.
Horma kanyonunda, suyun en hareketli aktığı aylar, Nisan ve Mayıs ayları oluyor. Kanyon, ilkbaharın gelişiyle, yeşilin tüm renklerini gözler önüne sürüyor. Eylül ayı geldiğinde ise, yapraklarını salan ağaçlar, toprağın üstünde, renk cümbüşüne başlıyor.
Bu güzel kanyonda gezerken, zamanın nasıl geçtiğini fark edemediğimiz için, eve her zaman geç saatte dönüyorduk. Bu yüzden birkaç kez ailemizin uyarılarına maruz kalmıştık. Ama her şeye rağmen, bu güzelliği sizin de görmesinizi isterim. Çünkü ben hayallerimizin ve tutkularımızın yeni keşiflerle gerçekleşeceğine inanıyorum.
