Hello Hive Community.
I hope you all are fine. I am also fine here. My post today is based on #worldmappin where I present to you an amazing piece of architecture. My post today is different from the usual nature scenes. In which I have presented before you the place that shows the beauty of architecture. The beautiful building featured in today's post is The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center is located in the city of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center is one of the largest and most iconic mosques in the world.
In the above three photographs, the dome of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque seen from a distance and the beautiful scenery around it have been presented. The above photographs are captured from where the courtyard of this mosque begins. This mosque looks magnificent even from a distance. The mosque is named after Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder and first president of the UAE. This mosque is a symbol of tolerance, respect and unity.
You will find this mosque a blend of different architectural styles. In which you will also get a faint glimpse of Moorish, Mughal and Islamic influence. The design of this mosque is a blend of modern and traditional elements. Which shows the beauty of Islamic architecture. I have also presented the photographs captured from inside in the next post. In which you will also see the beauty of the architecture inside.
You will be surprised to know that this mosque covers a huge area of more than 22,412 square meters. And it can easily accommodate up to 40,000 worshipers at once. The impressive layout of the mosque has a large prayer hall. Which provides a very calm environment. Along with this, this mosque also includes a large courtyard and beautiful gardens. This mosque has 82 small and big domes. Among all the domes, the main dome is the largest mosque dome in the world. And the height of that dome is 85 meters.
The mosque is constructed from a variety of materials, including white marble sourced from Greece and Italy. Which gives an attractive look to this mosque. Along with this, the design of the floor made of precious and colorful stones is also the center of attraction in this mosque.
If I talk about the interior of the mosque, the mosque is decorated with intricate Islamic calligraphy, floral motifs and geometric patterns. As can be seen in the last two photographs above, the main prayer hall in this mosque also houses the world's largest hand-knotted carpet spread over 5,700 square meters. These hand-knotted and colorful carpets also add to the magnificence of the interior of the mosque here.
In the above three photographs I have presented you the beautiful carvings. It can be seen in the three photographs that the mosque is known for its intricate carvings and decorations. Thousands of artisans from all over the world have contributed to the construction of this mosque. In which more emphasis was placed on hand-made details. The marble inlay work in this mosque is the most exquisite. In which designs of flowers and geometric shapes are depicted by marble stones on the walls. All these designs are made using traditional techniques.
If I give you more information about this mosque, this mosque also works as a cultural center. As here it organizes educational programs and activities aimed at promoting interfaith dialogue and understanding among people of different backgrounds. It took more than a decade to complete the construction of this mosque. The work is said to have been initiated by Sheikh Zayed to promote cultural understanding and religious tolerance.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque embodies the values of peace, unity and cultural exchange. The mosque's striking architecture, meticulous craftsmanship and commitment to community engagement give it an important place in the UAE and the world.
