Well, These buildings looks alike, They both have 2 engravings in each side but Arc De Triomphe looks more 3D than Simpang Lima Gumul. Another difference is There is a Writing Sculpture in Simpang Lima Gumul : Kediri Berbudaya, which means Kediri has lots of culture which makes them unique among other cities in Indonesia. Several hundred years ago, Kediri is a Kingdom where people built many historical building like Temple, Inscription, etc. Alright, Let see the detail of Simpang Lima Gumul.
Below picture is the entrance to Simpang Lima Gumul.
Once you enter, you will go inside the basement which lead you to the main building of Simpang Lima Gumul.
Below picture is the exit portal of the basement, You can see many people take pictures in Simpang Lima Gumul which located in circle garden where people can enjoy and have fun with their beloved people on weekend.
This is how the main building looks like, most tourist came from cities outside of Kediri. They are having so much fun taking some photos with their family in the iconic building of Kediri town.
Here are the 16 carvings in each side of the building. All of them are showing the history how Kediri kingdom was built, along with the culture and art. 9 cultures out of 16 of the engraving in below pictures are still exist until nowadays.
It's the Ganesha statue, a goddess of worship for Hindu people in the past. She is the Goddess of Wisdom, the goddess of Knowledge, the goddess of Protection, the goddess of Intelligence, and the goddess of Repelling Disasters. Most of Kediri society was Hindus people until Arabian came to Indonesia to spread Islam. However, Indonesia especially Kediri has many religions, Christian, Islam, Hindu, Buddha, Catholic, etc and they are living peacefully.
Inside of the Simpang Lima Gumul building, There are many stores which selling souvenir for tourist, like bracelets, necklaces, rings, children's toys, etc. There also food shop which provide snacks and indigenous food from Indonesia, Especially Kediri.
There is a tourist map inside the building where we can find some other tourist destination for vacation and enjoy the beauty of Kediri city. Peta is Indonesian Language, it means Map and Wisata is also Indonesian language which means Tour.
