WHALE encounter in Port Hedland, Western Australia

In Australia, it's not uncommon for ships to come across whales swimming beside their vessels. It's a pretty cool sight! As we are in the anchorage while waiting for our berth schedule the crew of the ship gathers aft of the ship to get a better view of the amazing creature.

I don't know what breed or kind of whale is this but seeing a whale up close is just fascinating maybe because it's my first time seeing it in real life. I was so amazed that I think it's about 100 feet in length I'm not good at estimates haha.😅😅

One time there is something happened that shocked all of us. We were watching the family of whales go around our ship, At that moment I am thinking that they are hunting for food. One of the A.B. is hauling his nylon thinking that he caught a fish. He didn't realize the whales are chasing that fish. After that incident, the whales went beside our ship that's why we are able to get these photos. The whales are just there as if there are waiting for something. The A.B. once again throws his fishing tool but we are shocked when the whale also jumps causing the nylon to be cut off. We all just laugh at that moment the whales must be angry because their prey got stolen by our A.B. If you notice in the last photo the little whale seems to be looking at us maybe that time they have a plan.

Seeing these animals takes my stress away for a day. I am hoping to see more sea creatures as we travel around the world.
