A Scenic Day on Schauinsland, Germany

Hello everyone. I wanted to talk about a new journey we went on today. We walked along mountain paths, encountering pedestrians and cyclists. Climbing uphill was tough, but we finally reached our destination and parked. We arrived at our starting point and began our hike from there. It was a Sunday, so we came across many people along the way, as it was a holiday. The weather was cold, but it didn’t stop us. We set off, continued along the path and started searching for our destination.

Our goal was an observation tower that had been under renovation for quite a while. We approached it to see if it had reopened. We were walking along a paved road and enjoying the scenery. It was 18°C on the mountain. Here, they had placed a new bench with a table where we could rest and take in the view. We continued climbing higher.

The last time we came here was in winter and now many things had changed. New tables and benches with beautiful views of a field and the observation tower had been added. The view was stunning! Along the way we collected some St. John's wort and made a small bouquet. I love wildflowers especially those that are beneficial. Wildflowers bring double joy.

We continued along the path and saw wooden animal figures along the way. My friend said it looked like a fox, but I thought it resembled a bear. It didn’t matter who it was. The main thing was that it was cute. We reached the summit and could see the city below. We had a clear view of the city, as if we were floating above it.

My friend thinks that one of the figures is the spirit of the mountains, standing tall as a guardian, watching over the peaks. They had placed a beautiful statue here. We had previously visited this spot in winter when everything was covered in snow. Now however, the whole place was filled with flowers, greenery, and walking paths. A completely different view.

We approached a small hut on stilts where we could shelter from the rain and have a snack. And finally there it was, the observation tower. It was still under renovation, but we could see some logs had been replaced. We hope it will open this year.

We went down the stairs that had been covered in snow during the winter, making it much easier to walk now. There were many people here, with children having fun and playing on the playgrounds. The cable car brings people up here so they can enjoy the mountains and fresh air. In winter we used to sled down the snowy hill. Now we calmly descend the stairs.

In a field where there used to be a snowman, there’s now only a green meadow. This place is being updated as a tourist spot and it’s nice to see everything arranged carefully for visitors. We gaze into the distance, enjoying nature.

And that’s how our day went. We revisited a place we’d been to in winter and got to compare it with the summer scenery.

Hello! Thank you very much for posting in the Worldmappin Community 😃.

We noticed that you included more than one PIN code in the post. This is not necessary and can lead to double pinning. If you are writing about a trip with different points of interest, it is advisable to indicate only one PIN of the most important place or central location.

Double pinning can lead to problems for our curation, so if you keep doing it we can not guarantee you to be considered for our daily Travel Digest.

We recommend that you obtain the code either from https://worldmappin.com/, or by selecting the location directly on the small map at the bottom of the text editor in the PeakD interface.
