Hiking on the Ebringen Nature Trail

in #hive-1637722 months ago

Hello everyone. A new hiking day has arrived. Since it is expected to rain at noon, we decided to take a walk near our home. Fortunately there are beautiful mountains close to our house and we are taking you along with us. As we climb a bit higher, such a beautiful view opens up. There are magnificent mountains and changing weather. It was warm yesterday, but today we are freezing from the wind. I put on a beanie because my ears were cold.

The mountains we climbed are located 4 km from Freiburg. The wind was blowing very strongly. We had to hurry to reach our destination before the rain.

We crossed a hill and continued on. The weather was still bearable. We stopped at a sheltered spot and enjoyed the view of our city. It was so beautiful to look at our city from a bird's-eye view. The birds were chirping like crazy.

After a while we said goodbye to the view and entered the forest. We climbed higher and higher into the forest and look what we found, mushrooms! This mushroom looks quite unusual. It's an incredible natural wonder.

We reached the top of the mountain. The mountains we saw in the distance through the mist belong to France. France is 40 km away from here. There is a ruined castle at the top. We wanted to see it. Apparently it was not difficult to destroy the castle because only the walls were made of stone, while the interior structures were mostly wooden. So when the interior structures burned the castle turned into ruins.

There were such interesting trees along the way, with fallen branches forming interesting shapes. On our way, there was a bench resembling a lizard. It's a Salamander.

There is also a spring here. We are at an altitude of 560 meters. Travelers can stop here to drink water.

There is also a stamp. You can use this stamp to document that you have been here. It’s a wonderful place.

As we descended from the spring and moved a bit further, we saw a structure. A hose was laid and water was flowing. The free spring water reaches homes through the forest with this hose. It's a very well-thought-out system.

We continued on our way. We walked and walked and finally reached a restaurant. There was an amazing smell of grilled meat coming from here. They were barbecuing and smoke was coming from the chimney. You can rent rooms here, rest and explore. But we continued on our way to the ruins. The weather was getting worse, so we had to hurry.

We reached the walls of the castle. The first thing we encountered was a wall with a window. They had restored the castle a bit. It looked repaired. We stepped into the courtyard. The wind was blowing very strongly. There were a few visible walls; the castle once stood here.

In the middle there was a well, which was used for drinking water, but now it was filled with trash. There was also a fire pit here. The castle was divided into several floors. There were seating areas where someone might have sat and read books. We can imagine the people who lived here in ancient times.

As I always say the informational boards where we can learn about the history are very useful. The first mention of this castle was in 1349. So it was mentioned even in the 10th century. You can tell how old these stones and mortar are. It's incredible how these stones have endured for so long.

On the other side of the castle, we could see the old water system. This water system has been preserved to this day. Mountains are visible from all sides. There is a beautiful panoramic view. The wind was very strong, but it was impossible not to lie down on this bench and enjoy the view.

The fields are now covered with yellow and white flowers. Everywhere looks so beautiful. To the right, to the left, everywhere you look there are beautiful landscapes. You can see the remnants of the castle at the top. This is a wonderful place.
