Hello everyone, it's another travel day for us. It was 19 degrees outside, a cool day. We wanted to enjoy nature, take a walk, collect some mushrooms and savor the season. We parked our car at the starting point and began our journey.
At the beginning of our path there was a sign and a cuckoo clock, indicating that we were entering a forest filled with cuckoo clocks. A little further on we saw another cuckoo clock with a sign underneath that displayed a meaningful quote by Henry Ford: Most people use time to discuss problems, not to solve them.
We encountered a bridge with a rushing river flowing beneath it. We crossed the bridge and began to climb up. There were steps leading us upward and in front of us were interesting red cuckoo clocks.
As we continued to ascend we came across a unique structure with a badger figure on it. Further on we saw figures of foxes, badgers, squirrels and raccoons. This structure was created to show children and adults that many birds and animals once lived in these forests and are now extinct. People bring small stones or balls and place them in a chute, which then rolls down past these animals, illustrating why these creatures have disappeared.
We climbed up from the river on a rocky path with tree roots all around, making it a difficult climb. But after 30 meters we were in a field with interesting, light-colored cuckoo clocks. The sign underneath said that time heals everything. Friends, no matter how hard it gets, everything finds its place with time. We continued through a flower and butterfly-filled meadow and came to another challenging path filled with roots and stones. There were large ferns here.
We passed through high areas and dense forests. It was completely covered with plants, making it hard to pass. The plants clung to us and the air was very humid, so we sweated a lot. There was no wind here causing a lot of moisture to accumulate. The hot weather made it feel like we were in the tropics.
There were a lot of blackberries here, not yet ripe, but they would soon bear their first fruits. Last year, we were eating plenty of blackberries and raspberries around this time, but this year they were a bit delayed. Naturally grown fruits are very tasty and cannot be compared to those bought from the market. Friends, anything you pick or grow yourself is always tastier. So, go mushroom and fruit picking, grow your own tomatoes and eat delicious and healthy foods. There are plenty of blueberries in the forest and we get our vitamins by eating them.
We decided to sit and rest on a bench. We climbed higher and cows were grazing below. We were glad we stopped to enjoy the cool breeze. We had been suffocating from the heat and humidity earlier, but now the wind was blowing and we were cooling down. There were many people around, all enjoying the cool weather. Fall is coming soon, so we need to make the most of sunny days and get out into nature.
There were plenty of mushrooms around, especially saffron milk caps. In Germany these mushrooms grow abundantly in the mountains.
In the mountains a man was playing the accordion and the sound of cowbells was coming from above. We approached some wooden figures and they were beautifully crafted. Ahead, there was a very cute rabbit.
As the cowbells sound grew closer, it became clearer; there were many cows here. We saw a small, sweet calf that had just been born. The cowbells each rang in different tones.
In my previous posts we encountered straw cows, but now we met real ones. There was a restaurant nearby, from which music could be heard. We continued walking with the sound of the bells. The milk from the Alpine pastures is very delicious, perhaps because the grass they eat adds flavor to the milk.
We walked along the path and stopped to rest for a bit. We listened to the evening songs of crickets. Then we cheerfully continued on our way, seeing daisies and wildflowers along the path.
In the mountains we come across such houses. We stopped and rested here. They were built in an interesting style and offered a panoramic view. There was a barn here and we peeked inside. It was a real barn for cows grazing in the mountains. Built in 1979, it has a panoramic view.
We encountered another cuckoo clock along the way. Here it was possible to stamp a mark. I was eager to see what this stamp would be. I took out a napkin and pressed it lightly. Now we have another stamp in our collection.
We saw an interesting tree with kitchen items, balls and bottles hanging from it. Decorating it this way was a nice idea. Instead of cutting down the tree, they had bleached it.
We walked around the garden, where there were beautiful figures everywhere. We came across a sign indicating that it was an old school building that had been decorated this way.
It’s a great place to have coffee in the mornings or dinner in the evenings. We opened a box labeled "vodka cabinet" which contained glasses and bottles. One bottle was pear-flavored and the other raspberry-flavored. Both were very tasty. It was my first time having vodka in the mountains.
We sang songs, danced and completed our path before starting to head back. We walked for more than 8 hours and still had a long way to go.
We approached a waterfall, where the water was rushing faster. There were a few more cuckoo clocks nearby. There was a cute owl figure on a tree stump.
Our trip ended as we approached our car. We walked 16 km throughout the day. It was a wonderful day and we hope you enjoyed our journey.
