A trip to see Lord Jagannath Temple, Puri

The boy is going through the most critical phase of life - appearing the board exam that started today, and then all other competitive exams. I have never given him any stress by keeping any expectation, my simple rule is do your best and leave the rest to the almighty. At times, we feel, we can do it, but from my own life, I have gone through situations, where it's beyond our control. You might be knowing everything, but what you present in those vital hours, depends on our physical and mental conditions, and no one can guarantee that it will exactly happen as you plan. Hence Divine Blessings are very much necessary in life, seeking the right direction to be able to accomplish what we plan. And I must tell you a fact, visiting the Lord Jagannath Temple and seeking his blessings even believed to be as per the Lord's wish. We not only believe this but experienced quite a few times, unless he allows, it just won't happen, whatever preparation or plan we put up. This visit came all of a sudden, the boy felt, he needs to go there and there were a lot of hurdles, my car had broke down with a brake failure, but out of nowhere, all the help came in and everything got ready - this is how you feel the divine presence.

I have a friend from PG batch whom we met on the way, he guided us providing all the assistance that was possible - the boy wanted to tie a flag on the top of the temple and my friend connected with another friend ( from our PG batch only, different stream), who completely took the charge of getting it done, in proper process, without having to pay the priests those extra unreasonable charges. If you don't know, then Jagannath Temple, Puri is one of the Char Dham, inviting 100000 - 200000 visitors per day. The local priests take advantage of this and demand unreasonable amount of money people from coming outside ( it's kind of a general problem in crowded places), e.g. for hosting the flag, they charge somewhere around 7-10 thousand rupees, but my friend got it done in only 722 rupees - the amount that actually need to be spent in a fair way. The very first flag of the day is chosen in a lottery and that needs a little extra payment, but unfortunately most priests charge ten times.

You cannot take any digital devices (phone / camera) inside, however, my friend did a nice job of connecting with a person to serve the Mahaprasad fresh and hot. Those vendors are allowed phone and after finding him, the first thing I had to tell him to call my friend to confirm, he was the right person and then rest all was pretty nice - he charged reasonably, as we even brought Mahaprasad to home.

A visit to Puri is incomplete without visiting the sea beach and we choose the Golden Beach for its cleanliness, even though they charge a little.

It never feels complete to come back from the beach at such short time - they have done a nice job of decorating the beach with flowers.

The golden beach hotel, where we stayed last time, the best place to enjoy the beach. There are lot of scams to book this hotel, so if you plan to come, then do let me know, I will provide you their authentic contact details.

You will not want to miss this cafe at the Golden beach, the price is one fourth of what we get in the Capital , with better taste.

They have put some nice fancy lighting in the Golden beach that makes this place more attractive.

Request you all to bless the kid to achieve his goal - next two months are tough for him and blessings only can make it better.
