Purlingbrook Falls
One of my favourite places to visit is the beautiful Purlingbrook Falls. Located in the Springbrook National Park in the Gold Coast hinterland, this area of the national park is very popular with visitors.
The Purlingbrook Falls circuit is well signposted and can be done in either direction. I always go clockwise to avoid walking up 450 steps.
The track is closed in times of heavy rain or fire danger and there were signs of flooding at the base as there had been a lot of rain fall only a week or so before our latest visit.
The base of the falls has a pool, however, if you plan on swimming don't do it at the base of the falls and instead you can follow the track down to Warringa Pool (another 2 kms down the track).
There is a lot of wildlife to be seen at times and this blue tongue lizard jumped out at us on the side of the track.
If you are in this area of the world and love walking through sub-tropical rainforest, give it a go. The track is a bit challenging and if you can't physically do the walk, there are a couple of wonderful lookouts that look down over the valley and waterfall from the top of the valley.
Thanks for reading.
