Have you ever tried visiting a strawberry farm? How was your tour of the place? For today's blog, I will share my short escape to the Strawberry Farm in Baguio City. It was a brief side of our trip because we needed to hurry up to our sweet home souvenirs.
Baguio City is known as the capital summer of the Philippines and is also well-known to have an abundance of fresh harvest of freshly picked strawberries from the nearby municipality of La Trinidad, Benguet. One of the famous activities that you should try when you visit Baguio City is Strawberry picking at La Trinidad Strawberry Farm.
During our last day trip to Baguio City, we went to the famous location of its freshly picked strawberries. This assured us that the strawberries would not get rotten as we traveled from Baguio City, going back to Cebu. Excited to pick strawberries and to buy souvenirs for our families at home, we rushed to the place. As early as 7:30 in the morning, we then ride a taxicab to the Strawberry Farm.
As we arrive at the place, you can see a large farm full of strawberry plants. It was my first time seeing this amazing farm of strawberries.
There are areas where the soil is just cultivated and some areas do have small pots planted, and they also have some areas which bear fruits already. How amazing it is!
You have the option to choose if you will go for strawberry picking or directly buy freshly picked at the stalls nearby. If you go with strawberry picking, I recommend that you go in groups so that your one kilo of strawberries worth Php800.00 is not so heavy in your pocket. You can ask your group of friends to divide the price to each one of you. And you can have unlimited time to roam around and get what you want.
You can also check the place inside the farm because its for free. No need to pay for entrance fee. We checked shortly the farm inside and asked the local vendors selling strawberries about the farm. You can feel how people in the place take good care of the farm for it's their source of living. It is a one-of-a-kind experience.
In our case, we didn't go for strawberry picking because we didn't have enough time and we just bought strawberries at the stalls nearby. There are different kinds of strawberries being sold in the stalls. You can choose the cute ones or you can also choose the bigger ones. There is also free taste as you buy strawberries.
While roaming around, you can also check the different items for sale such as strawberries in packs, keychains, jams, wines, crochet strawberry bags, souvenir shirts, and candies. A lot of tourists buy souvenirs at the souvenir shops. Lastly, you should taste their ice cream too. I can say that their ice cream is yummier than in other shops for you can taste its strawberry flavored syrup and not those flavoring only.
That's all for today's blog. I hope you enjoy reading my blog too. If you have plans to go to Baguio City, don't forget to visit the strawberry farm. It was a memorable experience for sure.
Have a nice day everyone😊
