Hello dear friends

Yesterday evening when I returned to my flat, I was able to write this post, because yesterday I went back to a beautiful village, in which I had already been about a month ago, which is called Montecatini Val di Cecina, and is located in the province of Pisa but also a few kilometres from the famous town of Volterra, which I'm sure many of you know, because it was the location of Twilight, at least I know that some scenes were filmed there.

I really like the location of this village, we are about 500 metres above sea level, and from my point of view it's just right, in fact I socialised with some of the inhabitants of the village, and they explained to me that it's nice both in winter and in summer, because in winter it's not so cold with the fact that it's not high up, while in summer, being a little bit on a hill, you can breathe from the heat of the Tuscan plain.

Even a gentleman has given me an appointment for the next time I pass by this place inviting me to go horse riding in the surrounding countryside in fact there is a beautiful nature reserve of more than 2000 hectares great variety of flora and fauna, and I think this is the best way to see this place, in fact I have written it all down, and I certainly hope next time to do it and bring you this experience here.

However, what I like most about this village is really its old centre, which I think is very picturesque with all these narrow stone streets and old houses that as usual are always impeccably restored by the inhabitants of this village, who in the end are not a few because there are almost 100 people, although most of them are elderly from what I have seen.

Of course the protagonist is always the castle of Querceto, which in the end is the most important tourist attraction of the village itself, and let's say that most of the tourists who come here come mainly to visit the castle, but not only from what I understand, because many people also come because this place like other more important places near here is famous for the production of olive oil and especially also for the production of the famous Chianti, a famous wine I think quite well known all over the world.

Of course the other thing I like most about this village is its clock tower which still dates back to the 1400s and is still in very good condition, and a lady I met just yesterday told me that they are planning to fix the internal access to allow tourists to go up to the top, so as to create a very good vantage point to admire the landscape around the village.

I love it when these projects always come from ordinary citizens, because it makes you realise how much people care about the places where they live, and they try in every way to enhance them without waiting for help from the State, this shows a strong attachment to their roots.

One of the most important festivals that takes place here every year, and which is one of the most important cultural and folkloristic events in Montecatini in Val di Cecina, is undoubtedly the wild boar festival held in November. We must not forget that this area is also famous for the production of cheeses such as pecorino and caciocavallo, because many people I have met for work think that pecorino is only produced in Sardinia, while a large part is also produced here in Tuscany.

In conclusion I can say that Montecatini Val di Cecina is a fascinating tourist destination that offers just the perfect mix of natural beauty culture and culinary tradition and certainly this is an ideal place to spend a relaxing and peaceful holiday, and certainly this place offers many opportunities for lovers of and ecotourism, so if you happen to be in Tuscany you absolutely cannot miss this place.

If you notice in my posts I always try to take you a little outside the classic tourist circuit, because in the end I think that in any country in the world it is nice to really see the culture of the place, and maybe even try the real cuisine of the place.

It only remains for me to thank you for the much support you give me, this of course stimulates me to always create new content, in fact I'll see you at the next one and wish you all a good day!
