Hello, dear friends

This morning, I managed to find the time to share this post with you. It has become very enjoyable and interesting to share information with you, especially about what I can visit when I travel in Italy. This small town, to be honest, I visited some time ago, then I forgot to post it here in the community, and I'm doing it today because I find it a truly beautiful and interesting place to visit.
The town is called Sperlonga, and it's a small municipality with just 3,000 inhabitants in the province of Latina. We are practically in the southern part of Lazio. Naturally, like other places I've visited, this one is also part of the association of the most beautiful villages in Italy, and I'm really happy that it's part of this important association that aims to promote these small villages.

What I noticed right away when I took my usual walk through the streets of this beautiful village, which is a seaside village, is that you can immediately tell from its houses how they are built that this place has a connection with the sea. This is because it's located on top of this rocky promontory, and it almost seems like the village is sliding down towards the sea. At least, that's the feeling I had while visiting.
Partly, these small whitewashed houses reminded me a bit of the houses in Greece or even some constructions found in Puglia. As you may have noticed from the photos, some of these houses have decorations like the famous three caravels, but there were also other decorations related to the work of the fishermen and, above all, the sea.

Another thing that struck me about this place, which I, quite foolishly, thought was a castle, was the Truglia Tower. It's a beautiful watchtower located right next to the promontory, and it was built back in the 16th century to defend the city from pirates who often, unfortunately, arrived by sea to plunder this beautiful place.

The tower is very beautiful and well-maintained, and, by the way, you can also visit it. I will leave you with all the relevant information not only to visit the tower but also to explore the same village, which, for me, was a delightful discovery.

The town is so beautiful @silviared945
I like the old architecture of the building and the way people decorate the town with plants, flowers and murals.

It's truly wonderful to appreciate the beauty of old architecture and the artistic touches that people add to their towns. The combination of historic buildings, lush plants and flowers, and vibrant murals can create a charming and picturesque atmosphere
