Hello dear friends,

This summer, during my wanderings in Italy, I was fortunate to explore beautiful places that, honestly, I would never have discovered if I hadn't been with locals. In fact, I must say that this is the wonderful thing that, thanks to the luck of my job, allows me to meet many people and form beautiful friendships, which then give you the opportunity to explore these places.

But today, I don't want to bore you with art or the usual topics and posts about villages. You know well that I love very natural things, where nature still reigns supreme. So today, I've decided to share a post about the Sterpaia Coastal Park, a beautiful natural area, and fortunately, a protected one, located between Piombino and Follonica. In fact, many people I know complain that the sea in Tuscany isn't as beautiful as the sea in Southern Italy. However, in my opinion, those who have the fortune to visit this place, which I will introduce to you through my photos today, will find a beautiful sea, but above all, peace and relaxation thanks to the fact that this place is nestled within a protected area.

Most of the park's land consists of a forest right next to the sea, and practically in no time, you find yourself in the water. As you can see from the photos I'm sharing, the sea is beautiful, and the water is practically crystal clear, very different from the water you find further north in Tuscany, let's say in the Forte dei Marmi area. Here, the beach is free, so you'll need to bring your own sunbeds and umbrellas, but there are minimal amenities like restrooms, and there's also the possibility to collect trash. Occasionally, you can even find small bars where you can enjoy a great breakfast in the morning.

It seemed to me that there was only a small part of the beach where you could rent umbrellas and beach chairs. Naturally, the beach has been awarded the Blue Flag for several years, which means it's a clean area, and that's a beautiful thing. It's always nice to find places like this.

Many people, when I return from my vacations, ask me if I got bored in these places. Actually, when I was here near the beach next to the Sterpaia Park and spent almost five days in this place, I didn't get bored at all. This is because there are plenty of activities to do in this place. I remember starting the morning early, enjoying relaxation on the beach, then taking a nice swim with scuba diving, and in the evening, I enjoyed taking a nice hike, admiring the park's wildlife and flora. I regret not being able to photograph any squirrels that were present in the forest, but in the evening, it became a bit dangerous because there is a significant presence of wild boars that mainly come out at night.

In short, I can say that this place is the ideal destination for nature lovers, and I'm glad to introduce it here because it's not very well-known, especially in terms of tourism. It's mostly frequented by locals, but in my opinion, especially in the summer, it's worth a visit. I almost forgot to mention that I've been told it has also been a location for various film series and music videos, thanks to its natural beauty.
