Hello dear friends,
In this post, I want to share with you the wonderful experience I had yesterday visiting the hometown of a figure to whom I am deeply connected. I believe many of you surely know his name, Marcus Tullius Cicero, one of the most illustrious orators and philosophers of ancient Rome. His philosophy was studied in school just as I did.
During my visit to this special place, I had the opportunity to immerse myself in his history and the unique atmosphere that still pervades the streets of this fascinating city. It is incredible to think that this is the place where Cicero first saw the light, and it was exciting to walk the same streets that he himself traversed.
In fact, this important figure from ancient Rome is mentioned many times, especially when exploring a place, with the typical phrase "to act as a Cicero," which undoubtedly means that person knows that place well and can be an excellent orator, just like Cicero was.
The birthplace is called Arpino and is located in the province of Frosinone, in the Lazio region, about 100 km from Rome. As can be seen from the first photos, it can already be inferred that this place is rich in history, and its history is very ancient as its roots date back to ancient Rome.
I regret that when I was there, I didn't have time to visit the famous Cicero Museum dedicated to the life and work of this important figure of the time.
Of course, Arpino is also famous for its panoramic beauty. In fact, this city is situated on a hill that offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding countryside. You can take beautiful walks through the streets of the historic center, admiring the historical buildings and churches.
During my stroll, I also noticed a beautiful civic art gallery that houses a collection of artworks by local and regional artists. When I was there, there was a small event with local market stalls.
In this place, there is also the possibility to taste typical local products and gastronomic delights. I wanted to take a photo and note the prices to share with you how much they cost and how much one can spend on food.
I hope that with this short post, I have been helpful to you, and I hope you have the opportunity to visit this place, which, in my opinion, is very beautiful, especially in terms of its landscape, but also because it is rich in history. I was very sorry that I couldn't stay a little longer to visit the two main museums there.
Thank you for reading, and see you in my next post, thanking you again for the tremendous support you give me in all my posts, which encourages me to write and bring you new content.
