Last weekend, my family and I decided to venture to a lovely place called Boca del Rio, located in the Macanao peninsula of Nueva Esparta state, in the beautiful Margarita Island.
The road was long, but we knew it was going to be worth it because of what some friends who had already visited this place had told us about it. So as faithful nature lovers, we went with the conditions created to spend a great day. We went over the bridge of the restinga that took us to the entrance of the macanao peninsula and a few kilometers ahead is boca de rio, this beautiful place had a small boardwalk and breathtaking views of boats.

El pasado fin de semana, mi familia y yo decidimos aventurarnos hacia un lugar encantador llamado Boca del Río, ubicado en la península de Macanao del estado Nueva Esparta, en la bella Isla Margarita.
El camino era largo, pero sabíamos que iba a valer la pena por lo que nos habían contado unos amigos que ya habían visitado este lugar alguna vez. Así que como fieles amantes de la naturaleza, íbamos con las condiciones creadas para pasar un día genial. Pasamos por el puente de la restinga que nos llevó a la entrada de la península de macanao y unos kilómetros mas adelanté está boca de rio.Este hermoso lugar tenía un pequeño malecón y unas vistas impresionantes de barcos.
Upon arrival we thought it was the ideal place to have lunch, so we parked the van, took out our food and tasted it in front of a natural landscape and with the divine aroma of the sea, I tell you it was an excellent experience.
When we finished lunch, we stayed a little longer on this beautiful boardwalk of Boca del Rio, which offered us an excellent panoramic view of the sea and the boats moving gently in the water.
Al llegar creímos que era el lugar ideal para almorzar, así que estacionamos la camioneta, sacamos nuestra comida y la degustamos frente a un paisaje natural y con el divino aroma del mar, les comento que fue una experiencia excelente.
Al terminar de almorzar, nos quedamos un poco más en este bello malecón de Boca del Río, que nos ofrecía una excelente vista panorámica del mar y de los barcos que se movían suavemente en el agua.
After lunch, we decided to explore the area further. We walked through the streets, admiring the scenery that this beautiful place had to offer. The sky was not very clear, but in spite of that we could see some of its beautiful blue.
Después de almorzar, decidimos explorar más a fondo el área. Caminamos por las calles, admirando los paisajes que este hermoso lugar tenía para ofrecernos. El cielo no estaba muy despejado, pero a pesar de eso se notaba algo de su hermoso azul.
We stopped at several points to take pictures and capture the beauty of the place, which seemed magical. It was so beautiful and contrasting that I have a hard time explaining it: the trees, the boats and the beautiful sea.
Nos detuvimos en varios puntos para tomar fotos y capturar la belleza del lugar, que parecía mágico. Era algo tan hermoso y contrastante que me cuesta explicarlo: los árboles, los botes y el hermoso mar.
At one point in my walk, I was so stunned to see that from the shore where the boats were, you could see in the distance the mountains called “Las Tetas de María Guevara”. These mountains are named after a lady who was a native of Cumaná, because of her large breasts. This was told to me by a fisherman who was next to a boat, because I asked him what the name of those beautiful mountains I could see in the distance were.
En un punto de mi paseo, me quedé tan anonadada al ver que desde la orilla donde estaban las embarcaciones, se podían ver a lo lejos las montañas llamadas “Las Tetas de María Guevara”. Estas montañas son llamadas así en honor a una señora que era oriunda de Cumaná, por sus grandes pechos. Esto me lo comentó un pescador que se encontraba al lado de una embarcación, porque le pregunté qué nombre tenían esos lindos cerros que veía a lo lejos.
After appreciating this beautiful panorama for a while, we decided to walk a little more around the city where we could appreciate other images of Boca del Rio, it was an unforgettable experience. Where the combination of the natural beauty and the tranquility of the sea made this place will remain deep in our minds and hearts, for being a very pleasant experience.
Después de apreciar un rato ese hermoso panorama, decidimos recorrer un poco más la ciudad donde pudimos apreciar otras imágenes de Boca del Río, fue una experiencia inolvidable. Dónde la combinación de la belleza natural y la tranquilidad del mar hizo que este lugar se quedará muy dentro de nuestras mentes y corazones, por ser una experiencia muy agradable.
If another time I have the opportunity, I will return without hesitation. We traveled approximately 80 kilometers to enjoy this beautiful place, which I will tell you more about some other time.
