Greetings my dear friends of the Hive Universe!
Huairou is a peaceful place for nature lovers to get away from the busy city of Beijing. And I am very happy to live here in the lap of nature. In the very fast of the fall this November, I walked back to Yanqihu Lake of Huairou City which is one of my favorite places to spend my leisure afternoon. I always feel excited when I visit this place. It had been months since my last visit, and that was in the middle of summer when I enjoyed the late afternoon and enjoyed the beauty of the sunset behind the mountains. I knew that the beautiful lake would be very different now that the seasons had changed. The difference between the bright greens of summer and the colors of fall made me want to see how the changing colors of fall had changed the scenery in this area.
I know that the fall had taken over Yanqihu Lake already. There were a lot of different shades of yellow, red, brown, and other colors in the trees around the lake. The smokey background is like a work of art which has a different beauty as close things are clear at this time. But, unlike the other times I had been, the bright, clear sky I had been hoping for wasn't there. Instead, there was a soft blur over the whole area, as if nature had added a screen to the sight of the long distance. I missed the clear blue sky that had often been the background of my afternoons by the lake, but the smoky shadow added its special charm.
Also, the weather had changed a lot. The summer heat I had enjoyed on my last visit is gone, and the cold air has taken place in the emptiness. The cool air was nice, but it made me glad I had brought extra clothes. I loved the season's beauty even more because I knew it wouldn't last long and that winter would soon bring harsh, silent surroundings.
As you get closer to the lake, the first thing that hits you is the clear, sparkling water that will have a smaller ripple due to the wind flowing over the area. Though the lake is not very deep I feel but more than the rivers that flow over this region of the Beijing Municipal. There are stones of all sizes and shapes in the lakeside damn which is created to protect the reservoir with a large quantity of water. The roads by the lake are built over the dam also from where I can explore the amazing beauty of the lake.
When I went there, the valley was full of life. The banks of the river were full of families with fishing rods ready to try their luck at getting fish. They laughed as they dipped their small hand nets into the cool water and ran between the rocks in search of small fish running between the rocks. It was easy to get caught up in the fun because their smiles made you feel like you were there too.
Mountain ranges are not close so during this haze, the scenery looks like having a blur curtain covering the distant beauty. The clear ripple of the lake's surface is a beautiful sight to watch. The sound of the water rippling makes for a peaceful atmosphere as you walk along the beautiful road by the lake. That kind of natural music will take you closer to nature. Also, the fresh air will make you heal with clear oxygen and make your health better.
I saw many people who went down to the lake, where the calm sky was reflected in the still water. The lake was not as clear as it usually was due to the smoky surroundings. In the summer, it was a beautiful shade of blue, but now it was less clear and almost blended in with the mist. The fall colors of the trees reflected in the still water which was eye-catching.
I was enjoying the leaves that had fallen to the ground. Some leaves were bright yellow, others were deep red, and some were already crisp and brown especially the dead leaves. The scenery wasn't as clear or bright as I remembered it, but it still had a beauty that made me think, and it was just as fascinating. The role of the seasons paints the world differently in different seasons.
It was beautiful to look at the trees just near the lake water in some areas far from the dam area from where visitors explore the surroundings. The trees stood tall around the lake and I could explore the reflection of the trees on the water.
In this hazy weather, many familiar views seemed strange. On the far side of the lake where the mountain range is located, the shoreline seemed to blur and fade out, making it look like the scenery went on further into the mist for an unlimited destination. The hills beyond the lake had only shapes in the fog like it was a dreamy space.
Even though it was cooler and there were different scenic views due to fog, my afternoon by the lake was a different one with a different level of beauty that thrilled me always as just as nice as the other times I had been there several times. The overall views were really captivating to enjoy the quiet beauty around me.
I started reminding my past visits as the sun began to go down, and I have enjoyed many sunsets here. But this time the sun was still in the high sky but the mist had made the sun hide. Not only because it was beautiful, but also because it seemed to reflect the changes in nature as a natural process and so this place had become important to me as I can explore this place with new beauty at different times. Each season added a new layer of beauty to this Yanqihu lake, and each visit showed me a new miracle of nature.
