This weekend the weather was quite sunny, so I left the house and decided to go for a walk close to home.
Often we don't really care about where we live, so we go further away, to other cities and don't "value our home".
“Rio Este” is a place in Vila do Conde with a route of around 12 kilometers. I didn't do the whole route, I just did the most beautiful part, about 5 kilometers.
The funniest thing about this place is that the small river that passes through there, which flows into a larger river called Rio Ave, has houses next to the river and many of them pass under it.
it is not a very visited place and was previously quite unknown.
I believe it's because it's not in the city and it's in the countryside, a little isolated from everything.
On the one hand, it is good to avoid crowds of people, this takes away the experience of some peace and tranquility in the place
the path begins in a very subtle way, a river, a Roman bridge where cars still pass and a tree in the middle
I immediately began to wonder what transformed a tree so green and strong in the middle of a river into a kind of arial that would accumulate the nutrients brought there by time?
This small river square is in the Roman style but renovated.
there is a small leisure area near the river and some trail markings where we can see what to count and/or observe
the trail is well signposted and this is number 1 of 12 places to visit, however there is a small note right at the entrance with a small description and easy-to-interpret signage about the route to be taken, a little further on we can see a small chapel of Saint John, patron saint of the region where I live
I've been away for a while, but I hope to be back with a bang, as writing gives me some inner peace and helps me relax from the boring days at work.
I hope to see you in the next post, a big hug to you :)
Thank you very much for reading
