Today the day started early with an article I wrote before breakfast. At 9:30 am we went by car to Funchal to visit the city. We parked in the car park and then walked around the city. The first stops were Blandy's Wine Lodge and the Mercado de Lavradores.
At 12:15 we took the cable car for 32€ to the Tropical Garden, where we enjoyed the beautiful garden and view. For the tropical GArden I will do an extra article. We had tea, galato and chips in the cafe, and a Madeira Dry to go with it.
At 15:15 we took the cable car back and had lunch at the restaurant "O Regional" at 15:45. I chose spaghetti with shrimps - it was delicious!
At 17:45 we went to Capo Girao to enjoy the breathtaking view of the cliffs and the sea. Cabo Girão is a stunning cliff located on the southern coast of Madeira, Portugal. It is one of the highest ocean cliffs in the world, towering over 580 meters above sea level. This breathtaking natural wonder offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and the lush, verdant landscape of Madeira.
Visitors can reach Cabo Girão by car or bus, and there is a parking area at the top of the cliff. A viewing platform with a glass floor was installed in recent years, allowing visitors to experience the thrill of standing over the edge of the cliff and taking in the stunning views below.
In addition to its scenic beauty, Cabo Girão is also known for its excellent hiking trails and paragliding opportunities. Adventurous visitors can take a guided paragliding tour, soaring above the cliff and enjoying breathtaking views of the island from above. We watched the sunset and then went for dinner.
At 19:00 we had dinner in the restaurant and let the day end comfortably. It was a wonderful day with many impressions and experiences.
