This was one of those places that we randomly decided to visit, a last minute decision to turn down a road to this place with the exotic name of Rainbow Beach. Another pleasant small coastal town in Queensland. After spending some time in Rainbow Beach we drove a bit further up to inskip point to camp, we arrived late but quickly set up camp in time to relax on the beach for sunset. Over-looking Frazer Island, the magnificent colours displayed in the sky as the sun disappeared, another day to be thankful for, another day we breathe in air to our lungs and exhale with joy of all the beauty that surrounds us.
Rainbow Beach.
The kids woke early the next morning, we're not used to cold weather, where we are from the temperature never really drops below 30 Celsius during the day, the early wake up saw us heading out to watch cars enter onto the barge to travel over to Frazer Island. The kids were excited to watch the barge come in and load 2 cars onto it. Just before they took off, the skipper invited us aboard to ride across to Frazer Island and back!! What an awesome experience, how lucky were we to have this opportunity.
While having a ride on the barge ship was amazing in itself, we were also blessed with seeing a beautiful active pod of dolphins which the skipper pointed out to us. We all enjoyed seeing them jump out and spin through the air, such graceful creatures!
These kids really do have the best school playground! Everyday there is something new to see and learn.
Overall we loved it at inskip point and Rainbow Beach, so happy we decided to detour and explore this little gem in Queensland.
