Visiting Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia

in #hive-1637723 years ago

No matter what happens, a journey always gives you a story to tell.

Hello travellers,

The first words that come to mind at the beginning of this post are, small, chic, clean, yes this is Bratislava, the only state capital that unites two countries, Austria and Hungary.

Today we will travel together through some of the most beautiful places in Bratislava.

We left western Romania for Bratislava, a drive of about 4:30, mostly on motorway.

Location,

Bratislava lies in the extreme south-west of the country, along the Danube, where the river cuts a gorge in the Carpathian Mountains, close to where the borders of Slovakia, Austria and Hungary meet. Vienna lies 56 km to the west.

Bratislava is definitely a great city to visit.

When should you visit Bratislava?

Bratislava is a perfect getaway no matter the time of the year. However, the temperature
changes significantly from winter to summer.
If you want to see a white-snowed city, visit from December to February where temperatures could go below -5 °C. Although, in the summer months it’s a different story, with temperatures reaching over 30 °C.

We visited Bratislava in November when the Christmas Markets were open and I can say that it was not that cold, a great experience.

Getting to the city of Bratislava:
By plane: Slovakia’s main airport is Airport Bratislava (BTS)
Train: The main city train station is Bratislava Hlavna Stanica
By car: That's how we got to Bratislava, a pretty quick way to get here.

What did we do in this wonderful capital?

First we walked the narrow streets of the old town.
Like all other European cities, Bratislava also has its own Old Town. This Bratislava tourist destination is famous for its narrow pedestrian streets.

Second - Take pictures with bronze statues.

Many different bronze statues such as soldier Napoleon, plumber Cumil, handsome Mr. Nací. The most famous is probably the bronze sculpture of plumber Cumil, also known as the Man at work statue.

This guy is the most photographed statue in the city. It is said that you can get lucky if you touch his hat.

Third - Bratislava Castle(Hrad)
Bratislava Castle is one of the most attractive Bratislava tourist attractions you should not miss when coming here.
The first thing you'll see from afar is the beautiful white castle, perched on a hill like a true guardian of the city.

It is a jewel of the city, which has become one of the symbols of Slovakia. The castle offers an excellent view of Bratislava, and when the weather is good you can see Austria and Hungary from there. It has 4 towers and a courtyard with an 80-metre-deep fountain.

Bratislava Castle(Hrad), as the locals call it, was built in the 12th century. In 1811, it suffered a devastating fire, but was rebuilt between 1954 and 1968. Today, it houses the Historical Museum and the National Museum, as well as many concerts and festivals,

The visitor's fee is €10 if you want to see the exhibitions. But walking through its gardens is free.

Last but not least - The famous bridge over the Danube and the UFO-shaped restaurant

We left the best for last: the UFO.
The UFO is a restaurant overlooking the Danube river. Its name comes from the fact that it resembles a flying saucer and it is now one of the most famous and prominent landmarks. It features a viewing platform where you can get 360 degrees views of the city.

Most SNP is said to be the world's longest single-span cable-stayed suspension bridge (or tower), 84.6 m high.

If you have more time and a more generous budget, don't miss the flying saucer-shaped structure at the top of the tower, where the UFO restaurant is located.

Not everywhere can you boast of having lunch or dinner high up on a flying saucer!

All the goals listed above are actually the ones I consider important, Bratislava has a lot of goals and to reach them you need at least a few days.

I couldn't resist taking a few pictures with🦅

TOP REASONS WHY VISIT BRATISLAVA

Slovakia is known for having some of the most beautiful girls in the world.

There are many cities in Europe but only some have a unique atmosphere that you will remember. Bratislava, we strongly believe, is one of them.

Just walk to Castle! A beautiful spot with its own museum, and you get to see the whole city from up there. If you are eager to walk a little more, put Devin on your to-go list.

Save time and explore the beautiful old town of Bratislava.

Bratislava is one of the cities that exceeded our expectations.

With its quaint Old Town, relaxed atmosphere and affordable prices, Slovakia's capital seems absolutely worthy of a getaway.

The most beautiful view of the city is from the observation deck, which is located on the plateau at the top of the flying saucer.

GETTING LOST IN THE NARROW STREETS.

Have you been to Bratislava, Slovakia?

What were your favourite spots?
I’d love to know!

Sort:

Bratislava looks very nice, the view is very nice. Thanks for the tip, I think I would visit it in winter, since 30 degrees is a bit hot and snowy it looks even better. My favorite is the white castle with the garden. I appreciate your posts and enjoy reading them.
Greetings from Cologne!

Thank you so much for reading and appreciating my posts.

The pictures look great especially with the view. In the summer it must be very nice with the heat, maybe I will make it this summer. Cool that you can be seen in so many pictures :)

Thanks so much for the appreciation, at least someone appreciate this post, yes summer is very nice, I didn't really want to put a lot of pictures of me so as not to bore.

The people doing V2K with remote neural monitoring want me to believe this lady @battleaxe is an operator. She is involved deeply with her group and @fyrstikken . Her discord is Battleaxe#1003. I cant prove she is the one directly doing the V2K and RNM. Doing it requires more than one person at the least. It cant be done alone. She cant prove she is not one of the ones doing it. I was drugged in my home covertly, it ended badly. They have tried to kill me and are still trying to kill me. I bet nobody does anything at all. Ask @battleaxe to prove it. I bet she wont. They want me to believe the V2K and RNM in me is being broadcast from her location. And what the fuck is "HOMELAND SECURITY" doing about this shit? I think stumbling over their own dicks maybe? Just like they did and are doing with the Havana Syndrome https://ecency.com/fyrstikken/@fairandbalanced/i-am-the-only-motherfucker-on-the-internet-pointing-to-a-direct-source-for-voice-to-skull-electronic-terrorism

Beautiful city! I'm happpy I had the chance to visit it in winter! I wonder how is it in summer?...

In winter the city was very crowded, now, probably because of the sanitary conditions, I don't think it is so crowded in summer either.

I guess you're right. In the summer maybe or late summer would be nice.
