"The world is a book, and those who do not travel can only read a page of it." - St. Augustine
Dear friends these days sitting and analyzing this situation with this damn virus, I chose to share with you my memories of last summer spent with my family at the Black Sea in Mamaia resort.
I apologize for posting more pictures of us than beautiful scenery, but here today I'm happy to talk about how we spend our holidays together.
Given the penetrating sun and the high temperatures of late, we want to cool down, away from the polluting pressure of the city.
Fortunately, Romania has no shortage of wonderful locations, touched by the grace of the Carpathians and the Black Sea.
Even if Romania doesn't have the most beautiful beaches or the clearest water, Mamaia is my favourite place in summer.
I have to admit it was a bit cloudy when I felt like taking pictures.
The first reason would be the fun, which is guaranteed wherever you go. Amusement parks, restaurants, terraces...they're everywhere.
Even at night you can't sit still, the music and atmosphere of the clubs reaches from the beaches to your room. I can't live in monotony.
Mamaia is the perfect place for fun! I think so.
The second reason is the atmosphere on the beach. I can't stand being on the sun lounger for too long, so I go in for a swim.
The accommodation we chose was at a hotel with a location very close to the seaside, I knew the hotel because I have stayed there in other years, this is also because it is very close to the beach, very close to the holiday village, the restaurants and the beach with fine sand and smooth entry into the sea.
The accommodation we had was all inclusive, so we ate mostly at the hotel restaurants, I can say the food was amazing, I don't know how much each dish cost.
Which resort can you choose in the Black Sea area?
The largest and with the most accommodation is Mamaia, with a 250 m wide and 8 km long beach. Further south are the resorts of Eforie Nord and Eforie Sud, which are also towns, Costinești - considered the resort of young people, then "Olimp", "Neptun", "Jupiter", "Cap Aurora", "Venus" and "Saturn".
Near the Bulgarian border you will discover the villages and resorts of 2 Mai and Vama Veche, especially sought after at the beginning of the summer season by young people eager to have fun from dawn till night.
Besides the beach and the sun we chose to visit other resorts such as Costinesti resort, also called the youth resort. Here nobody sleeps, it is a resort full of life, but especially of night life.
The first most important tourist attraction in Costinesti is the Obelisk.
And the second most important site in Costinesti is the wreck of the Evanghelia, a Greek-flagged ship that sank near the beach.
I panicked a bit when I chose to take some pictures of the wreck of the Evanghelia, a Greek-flagged ship that sank near a beach, when I realized I was on a nudist beach, in the end all was well.
Why choose Romania's coast?
As I said above, here in Mamaia, everything is in motion, such as the contest called "Color Run".
Here you can find prices for all budgets, here even the most demanding can come when it comes to accommodation, beach, restaurant.
You can reach the sea by any means of transport - plane, train, coach or private car.
You can walk each day of your stay in other resorts, where you can discover different attractions or entertainment due to the short distance between resorts.
It is a real pleasure to walk at sunrise or sunset on the beach, something unique.
At the end of our holiday, one afternoon we visited Queen Elisabeth Boulevard and the Promenada Constanta.
