After some forced break, I am happy to continue to tell you, dear friends, about my journey to the impassable taiga of Karelia. Our goal was to visit the sacred mountain of the ancient peoples - Votto-Vaara. Megalithic objects - seyds - were located on it.
I've talked about all this in my previous posts.
Today I want to share with you my impressions of watching the sunset on this mountain.
In general, any sunset in itself is already interesting. There is something so sad and fabulous about him at the same time. I think that always at all times the view of the setting sun should have made a strong impression on the observer.
Where does the daylight go? Why does it change its color at the same time? And will it appear tomorrow? Probably, such and many other questions should have arisen in the minds of ancient people.
And if, during sunset, the endless expanse of the taiga still stretches in front of you, which in places glistens with the surface of numerous lakes, then the impression of what you see will increase many times.
It is quite possible that this unique sight was one of the decisive conditions for choosing this place as a sacred one. In any case, I felt some mystical feelings at the sight of this magical landscape.
I wanted to take off and soar over all this space. Maybe the ancient shamans used all this in their rituals. Or on the contrary, this extraordinary place could cause me to have all these thoughts.
Don't know. But this first sunset, which I saw on Votto-Waar, I remember for the rest of my life. I tried to capture the full fabulousness of the moment on camera. But I assure you, it was not enough. And even my attempt to form a panorama of what I saw is not able to fully convey that atmosphere.
