After Day 1, let's continue our trip...
The next day was reserved for exploring the city. We started at Sir Winston Churchill Square.
The square is home to various events and festivals in the city. Surrounding it is City Hall and on the other side is the Edmonton Public Library.
In the adjacent blocks are the Citadel Theatre, Art Gallery of Alberta, Edmonton Law Courts, Royal Alberta Museum (natural history museum), as well as hotels, restaurants, and commercial buildings.
A few blocks away is the Ice District and Rogers Place, the city's stadium. As it was a holiday and the city is more business-like, it wasn't as busy as usual, which was ideal for us!

O dia seguinte, ficou reservado pra explorarmos a cidade. Começarmos pelo Sir Winston Churchill Square.
A praça abriga vários eventos e festivais na cidade. Ao redor dela está a prefeitura (City Hall) e do outro a biblioteca (Edmonton Public Library).
Nos quarteirões adjacentes estão o Teatro Citadel, Art Gallery of Alberta, Edmonton Law Courts, Royal Alberta Museuam, além de hoteis, restaurantes e prédios comerciais.
Alguns quarteirões dali fica o Ice District e o Rogers Place, estádio da cidade. Como era feriado e a cidade é mais business, não tinha tanto movimento como de costume, o que pra gente turistar foi ideal!

The Library is kids friendly. By the entrance there are 2 huge interactive panels, and the kids had so much fun interacti38on and learning with the dinosaurs and lots of arts on the entrance hall walls.
One could get lost inside.
A Biblioteca é adequada para crianças. Junto à entrada existem 2 enormes painéis interativos, e as crianças divertiram-se muito interagindo e aprendendo com os dinossauros e muitas artes nas paredes do hall de entrada.
Alguém poderia se perder lá dentro.
After exploring downtown, we stopped off at Victoria Park, home to the iconic Legislature Building.
Well-tended gardens and the building's beautiful architecture.
The autumn colors contrasted with the landscape.
Após explorar o centro, paramos no Victoria Park que abriga o iconico prédio da Assembléia Legislativa.
Jardins bem cuidados e o prédio de arquitetura belissima.
As cores de outono dando um contraste na paisagem.
Leaving the park, we crossed the river and went to Whyte Avenue to recharge our batteries, we visited the St Joseph Cathedral, so beautiful architecture, vitrals and the organ.
Then we headed to a bakery with delicious sandwiches, coffee, and other treats.
Saindo do parque, atravessamos o rio e fomos pra Whyte Avenue regarregar as energias fomos visitar a Basilica de São José, com seus lindos vitrais e o clássico órgão.
Depois fomos numa bakery com deliciosos sanduíches, café e doces.
Whyte Avenue is home to all kinds of restaurants and stores.
Nearby, we stopped to take a photo of the city view: River Valley Overlook. Overlooking the Walterdale Bridge, the city's postcard.
Na Whyte Avenue encontramos vários tipos de restaurantes e lojas.
Próximo dali, uma parada pra foto da vista da cidade: River Valley Overlook. Com vista pra ponte Walterdale, cartão postal da cidade.
We went back to the mall so the kids could play on the other attractions and we could explore the stores, before dinner.
The mall is huge! Lots of stores, and fun activities such as the aquarium, ice skating, a playland with arcades and even an indoor kart.
Voltamos ao shopping pras crianças brincarem nas demais atracoes enquanto a gente explorava o shopping.
O shopping é enorme com muitas atividades pra escolher como o aquario, jogos e games e até um indoor kart.
The next day, before heading back, we went to the Muttart Conservatory.
Famous for its pyramids, the indoor botanical garden has around 700 species of plants and hosts events and courses.
As we were running out of time, we opted not to explore the inside and stayed in the outside garden.
No dia seguinte, antes de voltar, fomos até o Muttart Conservatory.
Famoso por suas piramides, o jardim botanico indoor possui cerca de 700 espécies de plantas, além de ser palco de eventos e cursos.
Como nosso tempo estava corrido, optamos por não explorar por dentro e ficamos pelo jardim externo.
There was still time to stop by the Ice District and see the Rogers Place stadium from the inside.
The stadium is home to the city's hockey team, the Edmonton Oilers, as well as hosting events and musical concerts with large audiences.
Maybe we'll come back in 2024 for a Metallica concert in the city!
Ainda deu tempo de parar o Ice District e conhecer o estádio Rogers Place por dentro.
O estádio é a sede do time de hoquei da cidade, o Edmonton Oilers além de receber eventos e shows musicais com grande público.
Quem sabe voltamos em 2024 pro show do Metallica na cidade!
