Eternal Water and Karst Wonders: Pucok Krueng in Lhoknga, Aceh Besar

in #hive-1637722 years ago

Last Sunday, I went to a tourist attraction in Lhoknga, Aceh Besar. The name of the place is Pucok Krueng. The word Pucok Krueng comes from the Acehnese language which means the headwaters of the river. Pucok Krueng provides natural beauty that is still natural and beautiful. There is a green and clear river on the edge of the cliff and is also called eternal water.

Pucok Krueng is located deep in the village through the villagers' plantations. Travel time is about 35 minutes to 1 hour from Banda Aceh City. To reach the location, we can use Google Maps, as there are no road directions at all to reach Pucok Krueng.

We had to pass through an unpaved plantation road to reach Pucok Krueng

After parking the vehicle, we only need to pay a parking fee of IDR 5,000 for motorcycle users and IDR 10,000 for car users.

We went during the weekend so there were quite a lot of people. If you want a quiet atmosphere, you can come on days other than weekends.

Arriving here, the cool air is felt when entering the Pucok Krueng bathing area. The chirping of birds makes the mind calmer and more comfortable when arriving at the location.

Green water with bluish color is clearly radiated, with the condition of the river that is crushed by hills we can really enjoy the treat of an unspoiled ecosystem. There are large rocks in the river as well as cliffs and towering trees.

Here we will be spoiled with a very distinctive karst natural landscape. Around the karst wall, vegetation grows in the form of dense leafy trees as if it is a natural frame for the karst wall.

For those of you who don't know what karst is, it is a complex ecosystem, with underground water storage rivers, areas of non-renewable minerals, and home to a variety of flora and fauna.

At the edge of the lake, there are rocks that are half submerged and half surfaced. These rocks are usually used as a spot for selfies or taking pictures with the lake waters and karst walls in the background.

After I finished taking a lot of pictures, my friends decided to take a bath in the river. I didn't join them because I was too lazy to change my clothes. They looked like they were having a great time. The water also felt very cool to me who didn't join the bath.

As the day drew to a close, we hurried home as the tourist attractions were closing. We continued our journey to chase the sunset at Lampu'uk beach.
