The story am about to share is what happened between two friends one in the village and one in the town.
But am going to us what's happened between two rats to make the point more clearly .
It is said that onye noro ebe ono ebe ona anoghi ana agu ya, which means when translated (when someone is in a place he or she will be longing for where he is not ).
This is what happened to the two rats one lives in a home while the other one lives in the bush and they are friends but their friendship is one sided in the sense that one always visit the other and it's the one that lives in a home that makes the visit.
As your may have noticed the rat in the home always have smooth body and always looking fresh.
WHY?
The rat always eat the leftover food in the home atimes he can use his hand and prepare his own meal by searching the home and anything that appeals to him he will tear open and eat.
LIKE
Noodles
Biscuits
Rice
Beans
Fish
Meat
Powdered milk
Tea
All this makes it look good,so that any time he paid a visit to his friend he will always praise him for how good looking he was and at the same time plead with him to take him to town.
After much pleading the town rat accept and they made aplan on how and when to make the journey.
But it important to note that the owner of the house have been setting trap for the rat on how to catch it but being a sharp guy who knows his way around the house he always avade those traps.
Anytime he is eating or better said stealing the food he is always sharp taking a little and run inside his hiding place.
The one in the bush is always hungry atime going for the whole day without food you can imagine how bad his look will be.
THE DAY CAME
The said day arrived and the town rat went to his friend after exchanging pleasantries he told his friend to get ready as it's time for them to travel.
They arrive successfully and his friend shows him around every nuke and cranny of the house where everything is kept,but he forget to tell him one thing.
Never to eat and forget himself,and to always take a little at atime to avoid being caught by the owner .
At night after the family have finished eating their dinner and went to bed the twi friends now came out to take their own share of the meal .
The bush rat can't believe what he is seeing planty food is in front of them and being someone who haven't seen such in a long time he wisperd to his friend.
BUSH RAT.
So this is what you have been enjoying alone all this while.
TOWN RAT
YOU can help yourself now enjoy and eat to satisfaction.
So they started eating and enjoying themselves,but the town one is always alert to any noise that may come .
As they were eating the man of the house came out and the town rat knowing his way around ran out immediately.
But the bush being so greedy wanted to finish all the food in the house forget himself and the ownner of the house use broom 🧹 and killed it 😂🤣
Now what do think , wouldn't it be better for him to remain in the bush and manage himself to stay alive than to come to town where there is plenty of food eat and then die in the process .
This can as well happen to humans atime we may not be contented with where we are and we start looking alse where ,a friend may offer to take us and show us the way but he will not tell us all that is involved.
