Concurso #4 /Dos plumas universales / Cervantes y Shakespeare-Poema [ESP]/[ENG]
! [ENGLISH VERSION]
Warm greetings to the entire #hive community of writers, especially to the members of @soloescribe, who stimulate the love of reading literary works written by the geniuses of Miguel de Cervantes and William Shakespeare. I am very pleased with the invitation to participate in this contest aimed at highlighting the value of books in celebration of “International Book Day”.
My participation consists of a poem inspired by the life and work of these two literary giants who left us a precious legacy of masterful literary art. I hope you enjoy it.
En este mes celebramos
un día trascendental
se trata del día del libro
un compañero ideal
He escuchado a jovencitos
decir: ya pasó de moda
que todo está en Internet
y que les llegó su hora
Les digo a los más jóvenes
que no crean habladurías
todo libro sigue siendo
fuente de sabiduría
En honor al día del libro
quiero rendir homenaje
a Shakespeare y Cervantes
dos genios, dos personajes
Un español y un inglés
de diferente nación
pero unidos por las letras
que atesoran con pasión.

This month we celebrate
a momentous day
it is the day of the book
an ideal companion
I've heard youngsters
say: it's out of fashion
that everything is on the Internet
and that their time has come
I tell the younger ones
don't believe in hearsay
every book is still a
source of wisdom
In honor of Book Day
I want to pay tribute
to Shakespeare and Cervantes
two geniuses, two characters
A Spaniard and an Englishman
from different nations
but united by the letters
that they treasure with passion.
Dos colosos literatos
que nos dejan un legado
con escritos muy famosos
que todos hemos amado.
Con estilos diferentes
y diferentes lenguajes
con su afilada pluma
dan vida a sus personajes
Legado que a muchos cambia
muchos otros motivados
escritos que son eternos
no podrán ser olvidados.
El genio de Cervantes
hace que de su pluma brote
en algún lugar de la Mancha
el hidalgo Don Quijote
Con estilo inconfundible
de realidad y cordura
nos introduce en su mundo
de alocadas aventuras

Two literary giants
who leave us a legacy
with very famous writings
that we have all loved.
With different styles
and different languages
with their sharp pen
give life to their characters
Legacy that changes many
many others motivated
writings that are eternal
cannot be forgotten.
The genius of Cervantes
makes his pen sprout from his pen
somewhere in La Mancha
the nobleman Don Quixote
With an unmistakable style
of reality and sanity
he introduces us into his world
of crazy adventures
Su famoso Don Quijote
que habita en el recuerdo
un jocoso personaje
vive loco y muere cuerdo.
¿Qué decir de Shakespeare?
nos cuenta en largo escrito
historias de la vida misma
pero sin final bonito
Es ser o no es el ser
ahí esta el dilema
se dio cuenta Shakespeare
que existir es un problema
Aquellos que amaron tanto
con amores de historieta
me refiero por supuesto
a su Romeo y Julieta
Sin duda mis amigos
vale la pena leer
lo que dejaron estos genios
que el mundo vio nacer
la lectura es un deleite
que alimenta el saber
! [ENGLISH VERSION]
His famous Don Quixote
who dwells in the memory
a jocular character
lives mad and dies sane.
What about Shakespeare?
tells us in long writings
stories of life itself
but without a beautiful ending
It is to be or not to be
therein lies the dilemma
Shakespeare realized
that to exist is a problem
Those who loved so much
with cartoon loves
I refer of course
to his Romeo and Juliet
No doubt my friends
it is worth reading
what these geniuses left
that the world saw the birth of
reading is a delight
that nourishes knowledge
