Today I want to recommend you this Polish band that recently released an EP. They define themselves as a grunge-metal band, and the truth is I don't disagree, because you can feel that they have influences from Seattle grunge, but their sound is not like Nirvana, Soundgarden, not even Alice in Chains, and qual grunge they add some pretty sharp sounds that remind me a bit of the stoner sound, but I think they have a pretty unique identity. Another thing to point out about this band is that, as you may notice it's quite difficult to find information about them, I couldn't even find a high resolution image of the EP cover to put it here.
Song-By-Song Review:
The EP has four tracks, opening with the homonymous song, of which I really like the drum sound. Then there is my favorite track of this band "YourNightmare", which has an excellent guitar riff. One thing to note about these two songs is that at the end of each one the vocalist does some pretty interesting screams. Then follows "DangerousGame", which has a somewhat sharp riff that I like a lot and an excellent solo; I also like how the vocalist makes some low registers in the voice. The EP closes with ShutUp, whose vocal lines remind me a lot of "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)". The instrumental part is quite thrasher.
Bonus:
This EP does not include the other song released by the band, "Chryzantemy Złociste", a song that I also love, as it is the only one that is sung in their native language and has quite a punk beat.
General Review:
It's been a while since I've heard a band as original as this one, as they don't adapt to the trends of "grunge" and modern post-grunge, but bring something fresh which is reflected in the variety of styles they incorporate into their music. They also have some excellent musicians, from the drummer who makes some very complex rhythms, the vocalist who is a mixture of Chris Cornell's lugubrious and melancholic vocal sound and Kurt Cobain's angry and torn one, although he gives it his own touch, the bass player who is not just a simple support and the guitars, creating a sharp, dense and dark sound and some excellent solos. I recommend you to go and support these guys, because they still have a lot to say.
