Do We Have Any B&W Photography Fans Here?
If so, I want to know why you like it. Personally, I love it—not only seeing other people's black and white photos but also creating them myself. However, I don't have a clear explanation for why I love to look at them and create them!
There is something timeless and captivating about black and white photography. The absence of color can add a level of abstraction that allows viewers to focus on the subject, textures, and composition without the distraction of color. It often conveys emotions more intensely and can give a dramatic or nostalgic feel to the images.
For me, black and white photography often feels more artistic and expressive. It challenges me to think differently about light and shadows, contrasts, and details. Stripping away color forces a deeper consideration of the elements that make a photograph compelling.
So, if you are a fan of black and white photography, I'd love to hear your thoughts. What draws you to it? Do you have any favorite techniques or subjects when working in black and white? Share your experiences and photos in the comments, and let's celebrate the beauty of black and white photography together!
These are just some of the photos I have created, sometimes when I look at something I simply envision it straight away in this style and I know how it will look like but I can't explain how or why.
And no matter how much I try to "run away" from creating images in Black & White but then, I find myself creating them even without realising I am doing it.
If you have never tried to create them, I would recommend, it is completely different, because you can't count on the different colours to make your image interesting. You have to work with the lights and darks, to do that job.
And that is where the difficult part, it will take practise so your brain gets used to envision how it looks like on post, if your camera doesn't allow you to shot straight away in B&W.
From this selection in here, I want to you let me know which of the photos is your favourite.
Something else I would love is for you to share with me one of the black and white photos you have created. Not just with me, but everyone will be able to see it if you share it here.
It is time to have some fun and let others have fun as well. Specially, if you are reading this on INLEO. Then you are already a couple of steps away from everyone else.
And if you don't know what I am talking about when I referred INLEO, this is the time to change that. I will not say a word about it this time. I will only say this...
