Hola amigos y amigas de Hive, en especial a la comunidad de Motherhood. Paso por acá a contar un poco de lo que esta causando algo de revuelo en mi mente, escribir es sinónimo de drenar y ordenar pensamientos. Les cuento que cuando mi nieta, Lis, comenzó primer grado, tenía muchas expectativas. Estaba emocionada por aprender cosas nuevas y hacer amigos. Sin embargo, pronto me di cuenta de que las cosas no iban a ser tan fáciles para ella, y por ende tampoco para mí.
Lis tiene autismo y algunos signos de dislexia. La confirmación de la dislexia es algo que esta en proceso aún, sin embargo según algunos maestras y personal, tiene varios rasgos destacables. Esto significa que tiene dificultades para aprender y procesar información de forma tradicional. Por ejemplo, le complica entender las instrucciones de los maestros, y a menudo se frustra cuando no puede completar las tareas de la manera que quisiera. Este último evento, es algo que sucede ocasionalmente mientras estudiamos en casa, hecho que desenlaza en un llanto de impotencia de su parte.
Mi Plan para Lis, en vías de mejorar su capacidad intelectual y comprensiva 💙:
He querido pensar todo este proceso en varias ramas, para así poder generar desde diversos puntos una mejoría constante en el aprendizaje de Lis. Considero que lo mejor es eso, tratar desde diversos ángulos.
Adaptaciones en el aula: He estado conversando con su maestra principal, para solicitar ayudas visuales y auditivas para ayudarla a entender las instrucciones y completar las tareas. Por ejemplo, se le proporcionarán imágenes para acompañar las instrucciones.
Apoyo individualizado: He solicitado también apoyo y gestión de ayuda adicional de un maestro de educación especial. El maestro de educación especial trabajará con Lis en el aula, y también le proporcionará en parte apoyo individualizado fuera del aula.
Trabajo en casa: Lis trabajará conmigo en actividades para reforzar lo que aprende en la escuela. Por ejemplo, nos gusta fomentar la lectura de cuentos cortos y luego realizarle una ronda de preguntas en relación de lo leído. Esto para construir su retención y comprensión. También, una supervisión constante en cuanto a las tareas escolares, ejercicios y demás.
Además de las actividades mencionadas anteriormente, el plan también incluirá lo siguiente:
Un plan de comunicación: Lis y sus maestros se reunirán regularmente para discutir su progreso y hacer ajustes al plan según fuese necesario.
Aprendizaje basado en proyectos: El aprendizaje basado en proyectos puede ser una forma atractiva y efectiva de aprender para los niños con autismo y dislexia. Por ejemplo, Lis podrá trabajar en un proyecto que involucrará la creación de diversas manualidades didácticas que fomenten el aprendizaje de letras, números, reconocimiento y operaciones básicas.
Por otro lado, quisiera agregar que estoy muy orgullosa de Lis por todo lo que ha logrado. Ella es una niña inteligente y trabajadora, y estoy segura de que seguirá progresando en la escuela.
Mi Reflexión:
Estos meses han sido un viaje de aprendizaje y reflexión para mí. He aprendido mucho sobre el autismo y la dislexia, y he visto de primera mano cómo pueden afectar el aprendizaje de los niños. También he aprendido mucho sobre la importancia del apoyo. Y que con el apoyo adecuado, los niños con autismo y dislexia pueden tener éxito en la escuela y en la vida. Estoy agradecida por la oportunidad de acompañar a Lis en este viaje. Ella me ha enseñado mucho sobre el amor, la paciencia y la resiliencia.

Hello friends of Hive, especially the Motherhood community. I'm stopping by to tell you a little about what is causing a stir in my mind, writing is synonymous with draining and organizing thoughts. I tell you that when my granddaughter, Lis, started first grade, she had many expectations. She was excited to learn new things and make friends. However, I soon realized that things were not going to be so easy for her, and therefore neither for me.
Lis has autism and some signs of dyslexia. Confirmation of dyslexia is something that is still in process, however according to some teachers and staff, it has several notable features. This means that she has difficulty learning and processing information in traditional ways. For example, she has a difficult time understanding teachers' instructions, and she often becomes frustrated when she cannot complete assignments the way she would like. This last event is something that happens occasionally while we study at home, a fact that results in a cry of helplessness on her part.
My Plan for Lis, in the process of improving her intellectual and understanding capacity 💙:
I wanted to think about this entire process in several branches, in order to generate constant improvement in Lis's learning from various points. I consider that the best thing is to try from different angles.
Classroom adaptations: I have been talking with her primary teacher to request visual and auditory aids to help her understand instructions and complete assignments. For example, she will be provided with images to accompany her instructions.
Individualized support: I have also requested additional support and help management from a special education teacher. The special education teacher will work with Lis in the classroom, and she will also provide some individualized support outside of the classroom.
Work at home: Lis will work with me on activities to reinforce what she learns at school. For example, we like to encourage the reading of short stories and then ask a round of questions related to what has been read. This to build your retention and understanding. Also, constant supervision regarding schoolwork, exercises and more.
In addition to the activities mentioned above, the plan will also include the following:
A communication plan: Lis and her teachers will meet regularly to discuss her progress and make adjustments to the plan as necessary.
Project-based learning: Project-based learning can be an engaging and effective way of learning for children with autism and dyslexia. For example, Lis may work on a project that will involve creating various educational crafts that encourage the learning of letters, numbers, recognition, and basic operations.
On the other hand, I would like to add that I am very proud of Lis for everything she has achieved. She is a smart and hardworking girl, and I am sure that she will continue to make progress in school.
My Reflection:
These months have been a journey of learning and reflection for me. I have learned a lot about autism and dyslexia, and have seen first-hand how they can affect children's learning. I have also learned a lot about the importance of support. And that with the right support, children with autism and dyslexia can succeed in school and in life. I am grateful for the opportunity to accompany Lis on this journey. She has taught me a lot about love, patience and resilience.
